It definitely sounds like delirium. There are many causes to this....but in your mum's paritcular case, especially being post-op, an infective cause would be most likely. It sounds as though the medical team are doing a full septic screen with chest x-rays etc. Have they sent a sample of her urine away for analysis? Does she have a catheter in place? A urinary tract infection is a very common cause of confusion in the elderly.

Is your mum on any opioids like codeine or morphine? These may cause delirius symptoms.

If you are concerned about your mum's health then I would encouarge you to speak to the nursing staff and the doctors. If you have any worries then tell them; after all, you know your mum better than the staff at the hospital.

She hasn't got a catheter but she said that when she went the loo, her water was brown:eek: I suspect she is dehydrated? I don't think she has had a sample taken but it is something I will ask tomorrow now.

She is on morphine so hopefully The side effects will disappear when she is off it if this is the cause.

    Thanks, Karlie :)

Hi everyone, going back to catch up. No T's for me today:( but did go shopping with my boys and parents, got myself a pair of new shoes and a top which is something I never normally do. To me shoes are necessities rather than accessories but got a party to go to next week

Hi, had a quick look on eBay, there are quite a few just now at approx £12 with free delivery, I didn't look at each auction for condition etc but it seems not bad to me.

If you have a local car boot sale you might get one there cheap, I can sometimes buy DVDs for a quid at the boot sale but you need to be early to get the good ones. HTH

hadn't thought of looking round the bootfairs, I usually get dvds from amazon and if disney i like to get new so i get the movie reward points too, got quite a few free dvds, a blu-ray and gifts from the rewards site

GlitchHunter post all the glitches you want but dont think that gives you the right to be rude and insulting to people. Nip over to HUKD if you wanna act like that.

    You owe someone an apology.

    Evening everyone!

Last night I posted that I would try to get a nice DTD today to make up for the Price Check nonsense....and I got two!:T:T:T

Not as high value as I wanted but one for £40 and one for £65 in the next store...serves them right! Both half price items so totally free after DTD.

If they had paid me my Price Check pennies instead of losing my receipt details I might have stayed at home today and not got my £105 of stuff for nothing.

And to add insult to injury I used 3 x £5 off £40 spends while doing it! The 2nd shop I bumped to just over £80 and the till accepted 2 x £5 coupons!AND I didn't even earn my coupons they were all wombled!I think that comes to about £120 of free stuff today!

    :T:T:T:T:T

well done :T what did you buy out of interest?:)

Is the disney dvds a no go then for tomorrow? I think I read someone say it was extended till the 20th.

Just been perusing the T's FB wall (again!) and looks like they are starting to get a bit pee'd off with all the price check questions. Someone is asking why it's not working and quoted the bit about having to resubmit the details.

They got the charming reply of 'Let me assure you that the Price Check system has worked for you as you have received an email response regarding your results.'

    :eek::eek:
Now, maybe it's just me, but that sentence doesn't read too well! If that was the reply I got I'd be :mad:

I am very angry,:mad::mad:, I resubmitted and got the same email. I wont let it drop til I get some sort of satisfaction, no way can they "lose" all those reciepts.
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.

  • Wombled three Asda receipts today, one came back with £8.28 :j:j:j:j

Ts can shove their price check up their aisle.
