Evening again!
So we had steak pie with roasties, roasted carrots, broccoli, sweetcorn and onion gravy tonight.
The finished article:
I wish I could say that I made the black forest gateau...but I didn't.
Plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.
All the above was free courtesy of whoopsied items/multibuy offers/giftcards from firing nasty emails to tesco re: price check. :rotfl:
And come on people lets not start arguing again.
I can understand the frustration from glitch hunter as it does my head in when people post "spoilers" about something I am interested in, but perhaps the P word was a little harsh though I am sure tweets did not do it to annoy or deliberately spoil anything for anyone. So lets all just stay happy ok
Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end0 -

My mum has gotten progressively worse since Wednesday.
She is extremely paranoid, is trying to leave all the time, refusing help, imagining and seeing things. It's so upsetting for Dad
I just don't want it to be a permanent state of mind
My 83 year old mum was like this after a major bowel op. It was a water infection that was the cause.
She was shouting at everyone and making the nurses cry, saying everyone was talking about her all the time, telling me she was going home and just generally acting in a very strange manner....she is usually very placid so it was very upsetting at the time. Just hang on in there ..as soon as the medication kicked in she was back to her normal self....it is very hard I know and you dread what visiting time will bring but it does get better ! The funny thing is she has no recollection of behaving as she did when i tell her her all about it !0 -

She's the opposite of my dear departed gran.
She read the TV guide and once told us she was off to bed early if we were going to watch this "Marital" film being advertised.
It was a Bruce Lee Martial arts film
If anything came on that was getting at all raunchy....she'd come out with the phrase that "he is getting a bit too trousery" and take herself off!!
Mind if i nick your dearly departed Gran's saying of "he is getting a bit too trousery"?? I love it:rotfl:Tiger

She knows who she is but often forgets where she is and is confused why dad has had curtains installed around her bed.
She kept insisting that I make all the patients a cuppa and was wondering where the milk had been moved, etc.
Her health appears to be normal other than her mental state. She is usually rational so it's quite upsetting.
It definitely sounds like delirium. There are many causes to this....but in your mum's paritcular case, especially being post-op, an infective cause would be most likely. It sounds as though the medical team are doing a full septic screen with chest x-rays etc. Have they sent a sample of her urine away for analysis? Does she have a catheter in place? A urinary tract infection is a very common cause of confusion in the elderly.
Is your mum on any opioids like codeine or morphine? These may cause delirius symptoms.
If you are concerned about your mum's health then I would encouarge you to speak to the nursing staff and the doctors. If you have any worries then tell them; after all, you know your mum better than the staff at the hospital.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member

Evening everyone!
Last night I posted that I would try to get a nice DTD today to make up for the Price Check nonsense....and I got two!:T:T:T
Not as high value as I wanted but one for £40 and one for £65 in the next store...serves them right! Both half price items so totally free after DTD.
If they had paid me my Price Check pennies instead of losing my receipt details I might have stayed at home today and not got my £105 of stuff for nothing.
And to add insult to injury I used 3 x £5 off £40 spends while doing it! The 2nd shop I bumped to just over £80 and the till accepted 2 x £5 coupons!AND I didn't even earn my coupons they were all wombled!I think that comes to about £120 of free stuff today!
:T:T:T:T:TLearn from the past, enjoy and appreciate the present and work to make your future the best it can possibly be
And get lots of glitches!0 -
Looks beaut that Karlie, do have to ask though, what did you make your gravy from?!
When I got home I realised that we didn't have any gravy granules.
So I thought I'd make some beef gravy instead. But that didn't turn out too beefy (Tesco Value stock cubes of course!). :rotfl: Add to the fact that I used a whole onion, I decided to call it onion gravy. I do agree that the gravy doesn't look appetising, but I can confidently say it tasted AWESOME!:D

Might as well get rid of cc points, I remember the good old days earning enough cc points in 6 months to pay for a £3500 Florida holiday, now I'm lucky to earn enough for an itunes voucher.:mad:0
