My mum has gotten progressively worse since Wednesday.
She is extremely paranoid, is trying to leave all the time, refusing help, imagining and seeing things. It's so upsetting for Dad
I just don't want it to be a permanent state of mind
.
Has she got a temperature/ possible infection ? What did the hospital say when you told them she is not acting normally ?
I'm a bit naughty when my Mum is in hospital I always read her charts & notes etc I don't understand it all though.0 -

Leftover sausage casserole for us n dad.
Gotta MOT the car tomorrow so just hope it's not going to sting!
Let's hope the new week brings a new glitch...
Is she still in hospital?
Couldbe that she has an infection or it could be lack of oxygen.
Make sure that you are really clear with all the nursing staff and doctors are aware that she is not normally like this and you can see her getting worse.
My mum was delirious when she had a blood infection and when she had a lack of oxygen in her blood. Very similar to what you describe, she became very paranoid, didn't understand where she was and was hallucinating. Nursing staff and doctors seem to just assume that this is how some patients are particularly if they are slightly elderly without checking with family. I had to constantly tell nurses and doctors that my mum had never been like this before being admitted to hospital.
My heart goes out to you it is very difficult to deal with this when it is your family.
Make sure they run tests for infection or lack of oxygen.
Best wishes. xx0 -

For Tesco, the focus is no longer on how much it earns but how much it spends
The UK's biggest retail chain will report a multibillion-pound profit this week. But analysts will be more interested in the budget for rejuvenating its threadbare UK business

Love this bit:
"The scores given by the army of secret shoppers ranked Tesco 99th out of 101 store groups based on customer service."

Just found a clubcard key fob with a green circle of "green clubcard points". Is this the one that got spoken about a while back saying it offered double points if used??

Was Mr Clarke in charge when we had dtd price check if not perhaps we could all email him and recommend a 'new' idea to him.
I think he came in in March last year, as that's when Terry left. The end of DTD (28th April) might have been his idea. Come to think about it the cap of £20 might have been his idea too. No, don't give him ideas, he'll stop cc points too if he could:eek:;)!
It's only a game

Jumblejack didn't want to read and run, a member of our family went through similar, but not after an operation, just for no apparant reason. I'm not sure of the exact dianosis but they were hearing voices, getting paranoid and rationalised their thinking by unrational thinking like conspiracies. It is dreadful when a loved on goes through something like this, whether it is temporary or not it is hard to deal with.
I think it depends on how real the delusions are, they may get more intense and scary for her. She may not realise there is anything wrong but if you can get her to see a doctor it may help, and depending on the prognosis she may need medication to help the symptoms.
I hope it is just a temporary state of confusion
All these pictures of food are making me hungry! We ended up with fish fingers and chips because we forgot to get the beef out for a roast. Fancied tandoori but couldn't have that two nights in a row lolComping wishlist for 2017

I always read my mums notes, I asked if I didn't understand something and got them to explain her medication to me and when and how often she should have it. I would remind them of what i had been told and keep a check on them. The quality of nursing care varied greatly between each shift unfortunately.0 -
