My first attempt at this resulted in failure

I scanned the following at SS

2xKen Hom Chicken in Black Bean Sauce (whoopsied from £3.54 to £0.89 each)
    1xbottle of Pepsi at 69p

The Ken Hom is on multibuy offer of 2 for £5. So I expected £2.08 to come off my bill since 2x£3.54=£7.08.

What I THOUGHT would happen was it would tally up as 89p+89p+69p=£2.47 MINUS £2.08 multibuy leaving only 39p to pay. A pretty sweet price for 2 meals and a drink!

But it didn't, it came to a total of £2.47, even after clicking "continue" and going to payment options which is when my multibuys have always been calculated on the SS tills before. I had to make an excuse that "I just realised, we had chinese last night and I don't think my wife would want it so soon again, can I put these back?"

Am I doing something wrong here or does this not work in every store? It was an Express I tried it in if that makes a difference

I am truly gutted as I was looking forward to using this glitch and couldn't believe I found an opportunity so soon

    The ken hom stuff is only a single multi-buy offer, 2 for £5. It needs to be a double multi-buy offer, i.e. 2 for £5 , 3 for £7
    :(

Reading the OP it looks to me like aau98113 was thinking that the 2 for £5 on the Chinese meals would come off whoopsied meals too...it doesn't I'm afraid aau98113 , you need things like the tapas that has two separate multibuy discounts

    5 for £9.00 or 3 for £6.00

These usually (but not always) result in the multibuy discount being applied even on whoopsies. I don't think he meant the Simply Add meals.

    I think anyway!
