My OH was telling them about my obsession for bargains and our mountain of cleaning stuff....especially fabric conditioner. It became more and more exaggerated and ended up like something you'd hear from Peter Kay
And they were howling when he revealed how I approached a total stranger and asked "Are you a friend of Martin's?"
Then he picked up my handbag "Go on, show 'em your notebooks...show 'em your notebooks!!"
Different coloured ones for groceries, household and toys.....all in code only we'd understand
It was all very silly...but so funny.
Does you good to have a good giggle.....and I can appreciate that to the uninitiated, we must come across as a right load of nutters......until you show them what you've got for next to nothing.
Does anyone else here find they are a constant source of amusement for their friends and family....or is it just me? :rotfl:
A friend of mine loves it so much when i pass tips/bargains onto her that every Friday at work (she works in the City at a very posh investment bank), they have a team meeting and at the end, under the "Any other Business" topic, she tells them my exploits of the past week! Wasn't sure how i felt about it when she told me but now i think it's brilliant. :TTiger

Morning all. Had a nice lie in for once, couldn't think why it was so quiet in the house but remembered F1 was on
Managed to find some Simply add yesterday. I was good & only bought 2 as freezer is full but it worked, so 2 teas for £1 each :T
Thank you to the original poster (can't find which one it was, sorry). My Doh just shakes his head at me for all the glitches :rotfl:0 -
Morning everyone, I was up early to watch the Chinese grand prix. I won't mention the result, in case anyone is going to watch it later.
Had a nice SW friendly breakfast of fresh pineapple, lean bacon and a scan bran. Off back to bed for an hour, before my late shift.
It's lovely & sunny here, hope everyone else has a good day.0 -
Good morning all.
Lovely sunny day again....but it started out like this yesterday and while I was in T's there was the most almighty thunderstorm. Everybody literally leapt out of their skins at an enormous clap of thunder.. the rain was bouncing off the roof....and real flash flooding!!
Drove home 15 miles away and nothing...roads were all still completely dry.
Went to friends last night and had such a fun evening. We were all rolling about in laughter (at my expense). My OH was telling them about my obsession for bargains and our mountain of cleaning stuff....especially fabric conditioner. It became more and more exaggerated and ended up like something you'd hear from Peter Kay

No it is not just you. My family think I am quite mad. However I have almost given up trying to point out deals and vouchers to others as they also think who is this mad woman. However as my OH says it is all harmless fun. I don't smoke or drink so this is my vice.
BTW on the subject of money saving for anyone with an IPhone or Blackberry there are a couple of good apps available. First is WhatsApp which enables free messages between these phones when you are in a 3g or Wireless area (you can also send photos) and Viber which allows free calls and messages in the same circumstances. I use it to contact my sis in Switzerland and my daughter and other sister who are on tour with Steps and Diversity. HTH0 -
Mornig all,
purdita, your not on your own, me and dozydora (my sister) get a lot of ribbing too :rotfl::rotfl:legialized shop lifter's our dh's call us :eek: how rude! we also get when we come back "where you pair bin, robbing tesco again" oh well makes a change it use to "robbing boots" :rotfl::rotfl:
Well to make things even funnier, just gone up stairs to get ready to go out, dh just turned over in bed and asked "where you going" so i said why are you getting up? "where you going" so i said to tesco with sister, he turned over pulled the duvet over his head muttering "tesco, tesco, tesco" i just laughed and shut the door on him :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
