I don't really have recipes, more like methods.
This time I boiled lots of cubed potatoes.
I added these to some onions that I had caramelised in butter and a tad of sugar.
I found a couple of whoopsied pots of creamy pasta sauce with extra bacon in the freezer. I decided to add this to my pie instead of making up my usual cheese sauce. I mixed well with a bit of extra grated cheese and a LOT of black pepper.
My pastry was one kilo of plain flour, 1/2 Kilo of utterly butterly and enough water to make into a workable pastry. This was exactly enough for the 2 pies.
Yummy!!Tiger

Your pie would go nicely with loads of chips and baked beans. I notice you give your pastry measurements in kilos and I still work in pounds and ounces. Kilos and grams always confuse me and I have to search for an online converter.0 -

Do the Oral B heads price check against Mr A?
With the Thomas knives, was there a knife that could be bought for 1p or was it all from when the SA scanned the sheet and it appeared as 1p on your receipt. I wanted to buy a bread knife on Monday but they didn't have any left and ended up buying one of the others but I'll never use it so am thinking of returning it.
Oral B's are £10 in A's
No 1p knives, well there was for 1 person on here but the SA hadn't scanned the knives only the discount sheet. ( still can't work out how that happened)0 -

tigerwhite wrote: »Thanks JJ - I may have a go at that on Friday when I'm off work. One more Q for you, do you also have pastry at the bottom of your pie or is it just on top? Both my gran and OH insist a pie should have a top and a bottom but I sometimes only want a top..
Pastry at the bottom but that is optional!
I blind baked mine first with baking parchment and baking beans. I wouldn't normally but I didn't want Dad thinking I had a soggy bottom :rotfl:
When it was golden, I filled and topped it with an 'eggy wash'
It would be fine without a pastry lining though:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I am a dum dum
I just quickly glanced at the inside indicator on the scales. I did actually mean 1 pound of flour and 1/2 pound of marg!!!!!!!!
Blimey, you would have had enough for 5 pies if you'd used the kilo measurement
Thanks for mentioning it as others might have actually followed that!!!! I will rectify post now :A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
