The results of this afternoon's labours!

One for us, one for Dad. 2 creamy cheese n onion pies.

I can vouch for the pastry! I just ate the trimmings, mmmmmmm!

    Roll on tea time!

Afternoon everyone. Quiet on here today!

I had an appointment with a guy about loft insulation (the government grant thing) and went over to meet him at our other house and took the wrong blimmin keys with me so couldn't get in. I was mortified :o He couldn't hang about as he had another appointment and by his accent, I think he'd travelled quite far to get here. What a numpty I am!!

Has anyone had price checks back from Monday yet?

I'm still waiting for Monday's pricecheck but I think other people are waiting for older ones from the weekend.

You're right about it being quiet - do you think they've found a glitch and kept it to themselves. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

They look really tasty - I'm sure your Dad will be delighted. I love home made cheese and onion pie but haven't made it for years as my DH hates it and, as there's only 2 of us in the house, it's not worth making just for me.

Can you please give me the recipe for this if you get a minute. Sounds lovely!

Just got back from getting the last of my knife set from T's, bought some Oral b refills for £18.38 a pack  and have just noticed I think I have bought the wrong ones ;)
    /QUOTE]

Do the Oral B heads price check against Mr A?

With the Thomas knives, was there a knife that could be bought for 1p or was it all from when the SA scanned the sheet and it appeared as 1p on your receipt. I wanted to buy a bread knife on Monday but they didn't have any left and ended up buying one of the others but I'll never use it so am thinking of returning it.

    Thanks so much!

I don't really have recipes, more like methods.

This time I boiled lots of cubed potatoes.

I added these to some onions that I had caramelised in butter and a tad of sugar.

I found a couple of whoopsied pots of creamy pasta sauce with extra bacon in the freezer. I decided to add this to my pie instead of making up my usual cheese sauce. I mixed well with a bit of extra grated cheese and a LOT of black pepper.

My pastry was 1lb of plain flour, 1/2 lb of utterly butterly and enough water to make into a workable pastry. This was exactly enough for the 2 pies ( I like thin pastry and I always roll so as to not waste on trimmings)
    Yummy!!

It is quiet, I was nearly answering my own posts before :D
I'm waiting on p/c from yesterday... just been on IE and re-entered them then kept pressing back button (they sometimes miraculously pop up) but not this time. One was a wombled with £20 spent on easter eggs so I was quite hopeful before..
