    Wet Wombled Receipts

I did a bit of wombling in Mr A's carpark yesterday and I'm sure you'll all remember what a wet and windy day it was. I managed to obtain several receipts that people had left in their trolleys. Some people had left them neatly in the trolley ie not screwed up and others had crumpled them up. I got £2.13 on one receipt and £1.17 on another. The receipt for the £2.13 voucher doesn't look too clever as it had been screwed up. Have any of my fellow womblers tried ironing a receipt? If so, was it successful as I think I'll be too embarrassed to use it in its present state.

One of my receipts was huge and for nearly £180 - I was so excited thinking it was going to be a winner but it only compared half of the shopping and it said Mr A was £20 cheaper than the nearest competitor. I'm sure they're very selective about what they compare.

Dont iron them as they can go black, just hand over the receipt and brazen it out, you may well have dropped it as you left the store :p

How about having a massive shopping bag and chuck all your price check coupons In There with the receipts and then drag them out at the till and it will all blend in IYSWIM

This was £102.88 spend, sadly they had the points, my best womble JTD has been £5.17 :)

Thank you I like my name too, it suits me :D

    Excellent name! love it!
I've never had a JTD voucher for more than £1.50 like. Usually when I put these 'long' receipts thru price check it says your shopping was cheaper at Tesco...lol

Hello Elsie1969, maybe you can help me with something, I asked a little while ago but don't think it was answered

Why is it that this and previous threads contain 11+ in the title?

    Thanks

Evening all - It was so nice to be welcomed back to the thread this afternoon with open arms.... everyone so lovely .... I have to admit to having a giggle the other day seeing Happy and Karlie causing havoc in that 'other place'.....
Not sure I can give you a perfect answer aau, or if anyone has answered this eveing as I am just back on line and started catching up, then saw your question......
Basically as I see it there were aprox 11 members in the original thread when things were going crazy with the original DTD deals... and that number gradually grew as more and more of us found out that Mr T seemed to be happily supplying 'free' shopping.... Those were the days..... I was late getting involved, but enjoyed getting maybe 1 or 2? items from Mr T that Mr A was selling at half the price! Dare I drag up those memories? ;)
Someone, I haven't a clue who.... (maybe someone knows?) just started refering to the group as the 11+..... and the name just stuck! So it really doesn't have any meaning.... Its just those who started, and those who have joined in since.....
I have always noticed that anyone who is polite and speaks kind words is more than welcome to be included in the '+' ...... and as long as those rules are kept to there is no 'clique on MSE' as I also noticed was mentioned on 'that other place'! :A

OK... back to the catching up! :D

Don't iron the receipt they are a thermal print and will turn black if you apply heat (at least I think they are) I have handed over some in pretty poor states - if the SA said anything I just say it got dropped in a puddle :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: which is kinda true

Purdita how is Michelle getting on after having baby? How is baby getting on?

Both fine.... thanks for asking QoC.
Freya was a little jaundiced at first but that's cleared up and Michelle is kernackered but that's to be expected....especially with the other kids off school at the mo!
We all went out to lunch on Saturday and Freya slept the whole time :T
The only thing Michelle is a bit concerned about is Freya's belly button!! It's a massive sticky out one...looks like the tied end of a balloon
It's not a hernia and they've said it MIGHT get smaller so we're hoping it will, or when she's older she won't be wanting to wear bikini's :D
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.
