I don't think you'll find quite the variety in Farmfoods, especially in groceries/chiller foods but it is similar. My Iceland and Farmfoods are a few metres away from each other and I rarely shop in Iceland so maybe that answers your question. I tend to go every few weeks and stock up on what I like.

To be honest I don't buy a great deal of frozen food except some veg, fish (including kippers) and bacon. Milk is cheap, bread, loo rolls and kitchen roll. I'd give it a try armed with your Iceland prices.

Farmfoods on there fliers have vouchers for £2.50 off a £25 shop, £5 off £50 and £10 off £100 shops, so in effect 10% off.

I tend to not do my main shopping there, but I do wait until I need £25 of stuff and go there then.

Pizza's, Milk, Duck (with Pancakes) and Bacon I find especially good value in Farmfoods, and even more so with another 10% off.

The Iceland and Farmfoods in the town where I live and work are both on the same street - 8 or 9 doors down. I pop into Farmfoods and Iceland in my lunch hour and esp Farmfoods, check on their chillers as sometimes there are some fab bargains there - fresh pasta £1 for 2 packs, 2x3 Philly and Ritz crackers snack things - £1, 1 litre of Tropicana - £1 etc

Where I live it's not very easy to park up if you want to go to Iceland, and the farm foods iSight by the train station and they are constantly giving out parking tickets through the 'Parking eye' company even if you are inside the shop they assume your just using it as free parking and going into town. Madness!
  • Cheapest doesn't necessarily mean best! I tend to use these these stores for different items. I always buy my fish in Iceland - salmon fillets, tuna steaks and smoked haddock in particular - as I think the quality is far superior to Farmfoods fish, albeit more expensive. But I like Farmfoods for chips, pizzas and vegetarian products (quite often they have decent offers on Quorn products). The only frozen veg I buy are peas (and I get those in Aldi) so can't comment on the quality of those at either store.

I visited Farm Foods a couple of times when I lived near one but I prefer Iceland of the to and used them for Internet deliveries when they did them. I found Iceland was often cheaper than the local Sainsbury's.

The bother of having to go to the store to get it delivered puts me off. I'll be visiting Iceland soon, as my mother has seen the ads and wants to look.

If I had to help organise a party though it would be my first stop !

I bought a large pack of their 75 Indian snacks (bhajis, samosas and pakoras) for the freezer and they're great for adding sides to my home-made curries.

I've started shopping more in Iceland and TBH been quite impressed with the stores and produce, not all of it is over processed junk not that I'm adverse to the odd ready meal. They often have good deals on tea, bread, milk and eggs. I think they revamp their TV campaigns.
