Yet another maniac Monday is over at last! Fully utilized the sunny weather to do a bit of gardening and exercising by walking the park on Saturday as well as Sunday. But, the park was smelling of burning meat from the umpteen number of BBQs dotted all over the grassy section and littered with hundreds of beer bottles. I am sure there must be scorched patches of grass all over the place. Why can't people keep away their BBQs from the grass and clean up after themselves? Rant over!
On the MFW front, I'll drop into the Barc* branch one of these days so that I can update the mortgage balance in my signature.
I have been kicked out of both OP and VO surveys today. Hope there are new ones in the pipeline with my name on themMortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74

We have made an OP of £2K for this month. I'm happy that we have been making an OP every month so far this year. Long may it continue!
I have been hunting for YS bargains and maximising the use of vouchers sent to me by MrT. Though I haven't had much success this week with the surveys, I'm very near the next payout for SP. Also, the FLW on fleabay has bagged me over £25. So, had a hectic day packaging everything and taking it to the PO today.

Good morning fellow MFWs,
We have been economising on supermarket grocery-spends and utilities over the past year. Now that I have taken stock of the cupboards/freezer stashes, I am planning to limit our monthly grocery spend to £200pm leaving about £100pm towards mortgage OP. I'll be looking to switch the utilities sometime this month when I can spare the time to sit down and do the comparison online. We have been able to gather another £50-100pm through fleabay/Amaz**/GM sales of unwanted stuff/books. All in all, my hope is to be MF within the next 5 years.
Here in NW, sun is shining :-) Hope it stays like that at least for a few more days to give a chance for the veggies to grow. It has been mixed results from the veggie-growing venture so far. All my tomato plants have died, so managed to get a few YS tomato seedlings from MrT. Beans, tatties and peas are flourishing though and the fruit trees have lots of tiny apples/pears/cherries.
And another 8 more days until DS2's GCSE exams are over.
If anyone is looking for an invite to Helion Mystery Shopping, pm me and I'll be glad to send you the invite/referral.
Have a good day.Mortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74

Hi US, would be glad to know how you get on with your utilities comparison. I have never done one but may have to sit down and try it as I think our gas is quite expensive. x0

I got a leaflet through the door from British Gas offering £200 cash for switching both gas and electricity. I am thinking of taking it up. It has a 0800 number which I can pm you if you want to talk to them and see whether it works out cheaper for your location.
I have a SP referral which bags you 50 points if anyone wants to take it up. Special thanks to Jud1t* for signing up with the link. :T
Not much MFW activity at my end - only my fiscal fast is continuing. There are no signs of my cupboard and freezer stocks dwindling. That gives you the idea of how much I have stockpiled over the past few months. Today we had prawn masala (from the freezer from eons back) and rice for dinner.Mortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74

Morning MFWs,
I have come across a good opportunity for those wanting to open Hali*** Reward account to get more than the £100. Register with Helion as they have evaluations in most areas for this bank and do the evaluation at the same time as applying for your account and credit card. (I am unashamedly plugging for my referral link here)
On the MFW front, I have managed to keep a tight rein on the grocery spend. The outgoings for petrol has reduced slightly due to the competitive pricing of supermarkets and my using their 5p/10p off coupon. I am going to apply for switching gas&elec this weekend. Still to go, landline and broadband. I am with O2 now and will be looking for cheaper options.
Today I received my personalised Barc**** debit card. Just google 'barclays debit card personalisation' if you want to create a personalised card at no cost.Mortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74

We are steadily progressing in our MFW journey. I have opened cash ISAs in both mine and my OH's name for this year (M@rks&Sp@rks 3.25% fixed for 1-year). Right now, we are paying 2.79% interest on the mortgages. So, with the forecasted further fall in bank rate, I think filling up the ISA might be the :money: option.
I have bagged a few quids on the fleabay, was disqualified for many surveysand managed to do a few on SP. Today being the last day of DS2's GCSE I can breathe a sigh of relief.
