I asked and was told it was just for her. I went through all those sort of thoughts too. She even took me (I had to pay for my own ticket) to her works spring ball the night before I asked her about the house and had been telling me what she wanted for her birthday (this weekend) for the last 2 weeks.... There is more, but I'll stop there, had a good weekend away with friends and am refusing to stoop to that level or dwell on it anymore.
Thanks all0 -
thanks both. all bills are in both our names, in england and the rental date is next week. agents suggested an email notice after i called them................s
email is fine, but confirm it by sending, snail-mail, with **free** proof of postage from any post office a copy of email, signed by you & dated (take copy..).
Ditto, re closing accounts etc - whilst 'phone calls & emails are usually fine, confirm in writing, keep a copy....
You appreciate this will end the tenancy for her also. If landlord wants her to leave & she doesn't LL has to get court order.
Think I would change all my online passwords, set up royal mail re-direction (after breakups mail can go "missing"..), oh, and keep smiling & keep your chin up!!!!
Best of luck, better luck with the next lovely partner!!!0 -
if she pays nothing, you will be liable for it all. However it it persists the debt collector will just chase who ever it easier to take the money off, which sounds like it would be her as a home owner and higher earner0

Thanks all
I have the confirmation about the notice from the LA now, joint acc closed without any hassles, moved out, redirected post and utilities contacted informed and agreed to half bills up to date. Also off the council tax etc register.
LA will contact me re the deposit when she moves out, so am presuming she is moving soon (her offer been accepted and going through the buying process now I guess).
Been a busy 10 days since she confirmed to me the house purcahase!

COUNCIL TAX! You need to close your current CT account with the LA to ensure you don't continue to be charged until the end of next March.0
