Car Hire - AVIS Excess waiver

Hi
I have an AVIS car booked for the Summer.
They have quoted me 20EUR per day (200EUR total) to reduce the excess to zero which I can only book when I pick the car up.
Am I right in thinking I can use a 3rd party company to do the same job but much much cheaper?
If so can anyone recommend a company to use?
thanks
Grant

I've never had to make a claim, so I can't recommend anyone, but google "car hire excess insurance" and you'll find a few. I went with a company that offered cashback through my Quidco account.0

You can also get travel insurance which can include it. American Express has a policy which includes it (obviously not their cheapest one)0
