Hello all

I love the look of this thread and the fact that it's a fresh new day every day - can I join you please?
I'm nearly 38, happily married,(most of the time, lol) and have two teenage boys - 14 and eldest will be 18 in July, (has been quite hard accepting that my little boy is changing into a man)!!
I have been changing my life quite a lot recently - I stopped smoking almost 5 weeks ago and stopped eating meat about 2 weeks ago. I am feeling a lot healthier and energetic for it
I have always been an old fashioned girl at heart and I'm slowly making changes to become more eco-friendly and also use as many products that are chemical-free as possible. We have just planted potatoes and onions in our back garden and later today I will be collecting runner beans from a lovely man who has too many and is giving them away on Freecycle
I absolutely love to bake! I'm self teaching myself to make 3D decorated cakes. I made some cupcakes on Sunday with lashings of buttercream, yum yum
I am very interested in learning how to knit and sew so that I can make clothes and soft furnishings, etc.
My ultimate goal is to live in a smallholding with chickens, ducks, pigs and goats,ec
Sorry for waffling - I think I've given you my life story, lol, so sorry x

Hey JennyJewell, good to meet you. You'll enjoy it here, all so friendly and helpful.
Tru - hope you're ok, your post is a bit worrying.
Been for a trawl of the charity shops this morning with my Aunt, don't think she ever has a mooch about, just goes for what she needs and rushes out again! Going through to Edinburgh later to meet DS2 for dinner as Aunt hasn't seen him for a few years, will be nice to see them together with DD too. Shame DS1 doesn't want anything to do with us.
It's freezing here, stopped snowing and the sun keeps popping out - the hills about here look fantastic. DD has gone for a dermatology appt at the local hospital to see if she can do some more exercise without coming out in a rash. I know we all laugh but she has a bad time with it.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX0 -

Lou - so glad all went well yesterday!
Welcome to JennyJewell - do stay over here with us!
DS and DGd out this pm - all a wee bit tense, so the eggshell walking mode is back!
Much colder today and we've had a wee bit of drizzle. Can't remember the last proper rain fall, guess we need several days of hard, steady rain. Hohum, here comes the hosepipe ban...
No washing today, but I ought to tackle the ironing mountain - it's making very determined efforts to escape from the cupboard! MMoussaka tonight, leftovers from Sunday's lamb.
Hope you're all having a good day. ((HUGS)) to those who need one just now.Resolution:

Oh lots of love to you all Bargain Bird x
Absolutely pouring with rain here. The garden needs it but DD got drenched walking home from her child minding job.
Im tired as had a trip to London yesterday for my neurosurgery appointment and looks like I have to have a "bolt" - I kid you not - to measure the pressure inside my head. Something to look forward to:( I cant wait for Christmas now as it will be all be over by then. So in order to assuage my feelings I have eaten copious amounts of Easter chocolate early :EasterBun and now I feel jittery, high and sick:o
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
