Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 3rd April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning everyone.
Will be surviving on coffee this morning as DS was up in the night (and not going back off to sleep). Hes full of cold and DD had a temp last night too although its back to normal ATM. She has no appetite however so not sure if either of them will be going to school.
My day therefore will depend on what the kids do.......but there will be some more cleaning involved no doubt :rotfl:
Not sure whats for tea. I improvised last night and made some red lentil and veggie burgers and they were a success :T Might do something involving pasta.
Anyway hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not xxx

Morning everyone
Sorry Bitsy - think we must be tying at the same time!
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Light cloud here this morning but very chilly. DH up and off to work early but not stupid early.
Dinner last night gammon, egg, onion sauce, mash and veg, victoria sponge for dessert - clean plates all round. Remembered to get pork chops out to defrost so they are in the fridge. Made a loaf of HM bread when I got in from work yesterday, so boys will be eating that today for brekkie and lunch. Think I'm going to try to make some HM hot cross buns over the next few days. Got a line of washing dry on the line yesterday too.
Work was a manic Monday as predicted! But we got through it and no doubt today won't be much better - I just keep remembering that I only have to work 2.5 days a week so although I don't benefit from day off Good Friday I do get Bank holiday Monday - so only have to work 1.5 days next week!
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Bitsy - hope you get to take it a little easier today, so you're not totally shattered tonight!
I'm tired too, kept waking in the night, because i let my brain go crazy and think too much.
Heard Pup being sick earlier, but not found it yet. ewww.
Plan for today is clean hallway and deep clean kitchen and living room. slowly but surely we are getting there! then i need to plan dinner - have some chicken defrosted but no idea what to do with it! will need to have a good scout for a recipe later.
Hope everyone has a lovely day

Morning all
Hubby dropped at work, fish fed, DW on, stuffed breast of lamb, a chicken, a tray of flapjacks & a tray of brownies all cooking at the moment. I have a cuppa an scrambled egg in front of me.
I have a long list of things to do this week, but I will find time to do some knitting. I was very bad yesterday, our local wool shop is closing down on Thursday & went in & spent £55 aargh, but I did buy some Poem to knit my DD a shrug/shawl & some Escape & various other oddments.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

where is everyone today??
all went well yesterday with the scan. huge relief. feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. i am still more than aware that it could all go wrong but seeing the heartbeat and little fingers waving around, has relaxed me a little. ds finally knows. to say he is puzzled about how i have got a picture of the baby that is in my tummy is an understatement :rotfl: he thinks the baby is in my belly button
other than that still not a lot of os happening. just the general tidying, washing and cooking etc. still havent got my veggies in the garden planted which is just as well with the snow that is apparently coming
dinner today will beef and random bits in the slow cooker. i have a thing for beef at the moment.
bitsy - hope your two are feeling better.
bramble - hoe lovely of pup :rotfl:
have a good day all. hugs if you need them

Bitsy, I'm with you there - DD's has a bad cough, which only wakes her when she's been asleep most of the night, and then stays awake causing havoc - so DH and I have had about 3 hours sleep a night for the last 10 days or so!
After a long, dry spell we now have rain, but looks like stopping soon, so hope I can plant my onions and spuds today.
I'm trying hard, but my food budget is rocketing - still got DS living here who eats like a horse, along with ever-increasing prices in the shops - getting quite hard now to do the usual meals. Will have to trawl weezil's website for ideas, I think!
Missed all sorts of news, I think, so hugs and kisses to those in need, hope to pop back later.

Bramble hate to say it (those of a delicate disposition look away now) but is there a chance she ate the sick? You know what labs are like

Kids staying at home today so although DS isn't doing a dying swan he is terribly bunged up and says his throat hurts. What's the betting he still ends up hyper after being home today :eek:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Morning :hello:
I'm sooooooooo tired this morning. I want a shower, then think 'oh I'll just have one more coffee.....' I'm on my third 'just one more'
My hip has improved a lot over the last few days. I moved things around in the garden yesterday, it's the first time in ages that I've lifted anything heavy. I was very careful - make sure hips are straight, don't twist round, make sure of full use of right foot (I keep favouring my right leg). It's exhausting just remembering this every time I move, lol. My shoulders are really aching. I feel a bit pathetic, the things I lifted are no big deal normally.
We have loads of veg on the go, hardly any seedlings died this year
The girls have broken their own record, they gave us 304 eggs last month :T I rewarded them with some chocolate cake
I've been keeping the house up together (just!) but been extremely lazy with food. Almost everything is from a tin, packet or the supermarket freezer.
I feel like I'm in limbo at the moment, normal service will resume next wednesday evening. I will reveal all next week, even if it's not the news I want (I'm itching to tell you all but daren't say too much). If I'm relying on someone's internet drivel and the 'print screen' button on my laptop, I have to assume that they might be doing the same
Til then, I'll carry on in robot fashion - it's the only way I can deal with life at the moment

Good morning all,
Slept in today, had a terrible nights sleep.
Weather isn't looking great, very dull. Won't be doing any gardening today. Have still got ironing to do, actually i have always got ironing to do!
Hope everyone who is feeling poorly gets better soon. So many nasty bugs/coughs/colds going around at the moment.
Lou, so pleased that everything went well for you
.
Wm is on. Chicken drumsticks for tea cookeing in one of those shake bags that have been in my cupboard for a while, wedges and salad.
Must get my backside into gear as still got to have a shower and leave for hospital, it's daughters dermatology appointment about her alopecia.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.
