You should just be able to request a PAC and then port the number on to your O2 contract0

contacted O2 and they wont let me port a number onto my existing contract, they say it can only be done at the start of the contract, but we are having the number changed next week anyway:A R.I.P. O2 Direct (O2 online & O2 stores, the 'real' O2) will allow you to port a number up to 3 months (possibly more) after you start a new contract.
However O2 CPW will only allow you to port a number when you originally take out the contract.
Why is this so? Well as O2 CPW are only the airtime provider and NOT the actual network they inevitably have to go through to O2 Direct. Hence why O2 Direct have the power to apply lost/stolen barrs to your O2 CPW number out of O2 CPW operating hours but will not help you with anything else account/network related.
As this is the case it makes it easier for O2 CPW to restrict when you can port a number over (as it reduces the chances of things going badly wrong) and quite frankly reduces the amount of admin work that needs to be done.
Hope that makes sense.0 -
thanks, that makes perfect sense, too much hassle for them to bother with:A R.I.P. Dave "Simmo" Stimpson.....:AA friend, A Gentleman, and a Damn good pool player. You will be missedone in prison, not long enough0
