Assuming
a) you're talking about cash ISAs
b) you haven't paid any money into a cash ISA since 6th April 2011
then the theoretical answer is yes
Theoretical, because you have left it very late to open one for this tax year :eek:. You could have a look at some of the banks' websites TONIGHT, but you may already be too late. Failing that, my advice would be to open an instant access ISA at a branch of any high street bank tomorrow. Hand in as much of the £5340 as you can afford, then when the dust settles, you can transfer if you see a better rate elsewhere.
From 6th April, you can either add to your shiny new ISA or open another one.0
