Then a smiley would have made that clear. Without one it was advice, which on its face looked reasonable but if followed could have cost OP dear.0 -

My neighbour caught somebody letting their dog crap on his front lawn. The bloke said that as the front gardens are open plan (i.e. no fences or walls, plenty of borders and hedges though) they belong to the council therefore he could let his dog go where it liked. Neighbour soon put him right on that one - it's not even as if the houses are ex-council or could be confused as being so!

I'm with Nicki and Mishkanorman, there's a lot to be said for letting your neighbours know at the outset you might be a bit more unhinged than they are
Re the back garden, could you tell the parents you've had a problem with rats and have put down poison and don't want their kids to come to any harm? As for the car port, some 'scene of crime' tape might to itMake £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Would something like bamboo screening along the side of the car port attached to a couple of wooden batons not work cheaply as a "not your playing field" indicator? B+M had it cheap last summer.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

You seem to be overthinking it to me. Tell the kids to their faces that the whole of your property is out of bounds and that you will speak to their parents if it happens again. Do it nicely obv and don't be aggressive or confrontational.
If they don't listen, then talk to their parents. If they are the nice crowd you seem to think they are, then there won't be a problem0 -
yeah I suppose so, I just find this sort of thing hard. Going round in the middle of the night and yelling at anti-social behaviour, oh yeah I can do that no problem, but knocking on someone's door in the day to complain about their kids, that's harder to me. Get it wrong and you can really upset things. I was thinking of putting a note through door but that's just the cowards way out, isn't it, plus the kids would probably 'hide' it.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

My pet hate (scuse pun!). 2 weeks ago there appeared a fresh pile at the end of my drive, last year I installed CCTV after our car was vandalised so, much to OH's amusement, I scoured the CCTV and found the culprit! The man was in his 50's and must have assumed that because it was 9pm and dark nobody would know.
Unfortunately for him both he and his dog were very recognisable so when I saw him walk up the street a few days later I collared him and made him pick it up
He crosses the road now when he gets to my house.0
