Hi I have been into branch about this ISA and was told it's only open to nationwide customers who have their main current account with them and she said that the rate can go down but will always be 1.5% above the base rate. hope that helps :)

I think that lets me out then.

I've had a flex account with them for the past 20+ years but the only thing paid in (since I retired) is my state pension.

Even though quite large sums of money (I'm transferring around) often pass through it, that won't count.

My (our) main current account is elsewhere.

    Me too :(

Had a joint Flex account with them for years, but mainly used for holiday money, spending abroad etc so no regular deposits.

Sounds like a good deal for those who qualify though :)

...... but it was something like you had to have a flex account and have deposited a min of £700 (I think) pm over the past 3 months to qualify for the account.

I was told in Branch today the pre-req is that you have your main current account with them, which is defined as
    1. must pay in your salary (no minimum sum mentioned)
    2. must have at least two Direct Debits
Nationwide switcher service will do any transfer for you if you are moving from another bank. They won't be closing the other account, so you can probably keep your old account.

The rest I gleened was much the same as you did - no transfers in, instant access, not fixed term, 4.25% (I forgot to ask whether that was guaranteed), available from April 7, called Flexclusive ISA. Also didn't ask whether it can be managed online.

Got an appointment booked first thing Saturday morning to probably sign up for it. I have a dormant Flexaccount that I can make my "main" current account, so might as well go for it. Unless another bank betters the interest rate before then, lol!

Well I don't qualify but it is nice to see existing customers offered a good deal for a change.

Popped into local branch at lunch and they advised that they didnt know all details but it would only be open to main current account holders.

They also advised it would branch only offering - even the application.

Interestingly they also advised that the bonus percentage would be well into next year if not longer!

I tried to make an appointment but they told me to just turn up on Sat!

Glad the thread got some feedback... and some answers as I had just a few details given to me.

I'm off to deposit the full year on Sat as long as the details are as described.

I was told no transfers in.. forgot to mention that but it has been added by other posters

The usual criteria for qualifying for flexaccount exclusives is to have deposited £750 a month for the last 3 months OR to complete a [current] Account Transfer form from a non-Nationwide account or have done so in the last 4 months.
Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place

I would assume that full details would be posted on emoneyfacts on Friday so the details should be known by then?

Well, time to transfer some direct debits then.
