Hmm, I thought I loose 1 or 2 years if I`m protected compared to loosing all years if unprotected.

    No.

Read up in your policy on how it works, but any claim you have over this won't affect your NCD (assuming you did pay to protect it, and your "lives" are all intact)

    Just checked my online account:

At no point I said I agree with this claim and I argued and even requested CCTV footage.

Despite what it says, if you have protected NCD, (and assuming your claim "lives" are intact), and you are held either partly or fully to blame, then your NCD itself won't be affected. All that will happen is you will lose one "life".

Read up in your policy on how protected NCD works.

    From my policy T&C`s:

    6. If you have protected your No Claim Discount then we will not begin to reduce your No Claim Discount unless you have had more than one claim for which we have to pay in a policy year or two such claims in three consecutive policy years in a period of insurance.

So my 7 years of NCB should not be affected.

"Please note that the maximum No Claims Discount proof that we provide is 5 years. Your documents will therefore not show more than5 years No Claim Discount." -

What does this mean ??? I provided 7 years but will get back just 5 ?

If you go elsewhere you will just have 5 years NCD to transfer to them, yes.

5 years is the max with many companies.

(The significance for you would be that were your NCD unprotected, any fault claim you make would result in your NCD going down to 3 years at renewal - ie you lose 2 years from the max of 5)

If you want to try and build up a higher number of years, then choose the company you move to carefully.

But often companies that have the 5 year max are competitive on premium with those that appear to let you build up higher than 5.

When you are getting quotes, although you will have 5 years NCD (irrespective of whether or not a claim turns up against you), you do need to disclose this incident in your driving history.

    Got email from them:

    Thank you for the email

I can see by the file that our liability department has reviewed the cctv and can see that you rolled into a parked vehicle

Unfortunately we are going to held responsible for the incident

    Yours sincerely

You weren't denying liability were you? But it does look as though it's a fair cop!

At least your NCD will be unaffected (apart from the one strike against your protection), and you won't have any excess to pay.

(And you had to disclose the collision to new insurers anyway, even if no claim had come forth)

I did argue about this incident and I did not admit my liability.

I parked in multi storey car park and went for a cinema with my wife. Came back and my car has rolled backwards with note under screen wipers saying "your car rolled into mine, please call me etc". Not a single scratch on mine. As I was driving out, security guard stopped me and didn`t let me out of car park unless I give him all my details because accident happened in their premises bla bla bla. Obviously I told him to f*** off - who on earth is he and he has nothing to do with it as there is no damage to their property. He called police and after they arrived and they told him to open barrier and let me out. Me and police got out on road where I could get reception on my phone to call owner who left note. Police officer spoke to the owner, all details were exchanged.

Once I got home I phoned myself as well. Guy said he is 120 miles away and its his car, but wife was driving. There were no witnesses and she wasn`t there when it happened.

I got suspicious and requested CCTV footage. I can see my car rolling backwards very slowly, but I do not agree it hit that car. There is not a single scuff on mine. I feel claimant`s car had damage already and now is trying to use me for repairs. Also - why actual driver did not leave her details and did not speak to me?
