Comet: return policy on built under ovens - if wrong size

Options
I'm looking at this built under oven:
http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Built-under-Ovens/buy-PRESTIGE-PR1-BU-Built-under-Oven/654310

It states Kitchen space required: 720x595x570 mm
I've tried to measure the space with the current old one in and I think it should fit, but what happens if not?

I'm planning to buy online, free delivery with the extra cost of fitting of an Oven and Hob at £85

  • just looked it up on google and apparently external dimensions:
    Height=103.0cm Depth=65.0cm Width=59.5cm

which means it won't fit our space as our built under double oven is only 72cm in height!

You have 7 days to return it anyway under DSR's if you order online. :)

But bear in mind OP, that if you follow this route then you may have to cover the cost of the return yourself.
That depends on Comet's T&Cs and what your are told before delivery.

    Just something to consider.

Will people please stop quoting this. There is no requirement to return the item within 7 days.

Their advice - while slightly inaccurate - was more helpful than yours.

100% agree - His post was both negative and cryptic making it totally useless contribution

Mamamoo's post is not slightly inaccurate, it's wrong. There is no requirement to return the item in order to secure a refund under DSRs.

How have either of you 'helped' the OP in your 'similar' posts?

The OP now knows from my post above that there is no requirement to return the item within 7 days in order to secure a refund. If you care to expand on my post above feel free to chip in and help the OP.

You need to notify the retailer by post/email within 7 working days if you wish to return an item under the DSRs. You then need to return the item for a full refund.

While there may be numerous exception to this, the summary above applies in most cases. I acknowledge you may have more than 7 days to notify them, you may find an alternative form of durable medium to inform them, you don't strictly have to return the item; but the summary above means the consumer will do everything correctly to obtain their refund.

Posting this sort of thing without pointing out that this course of action is liable to end in court action, is not just unhelpful; it's bordering on negligent.

OP - I think they have the dimensions right, and the other one you found had it wrong.

It looks like a standard 72cm built-under oven, rather than the taller built-in one, to me (we had to find one a few years back, and I can sympathise - it's not easy!). I think you should be OK.
