Cancelling Sky/ Transferring Account

I subscribed to Sky in 2002 whilst I was living with my mother. The account has been in my name, but she has paid for the subscription via direct debit. I have now recently moved out and would like the account to be in her name (incase I want to sign up myself when I move again into my own place in the near future).
Whats the best way of going about this?
I hear that the only way for her to have the account in her name would be by taking out a new contract, is this correct? Would she be able to take up any new customer offers or would we be linked by family/address as existing customers?
Any help would be much appreciated

If you give notice to close your account and she takes it over it will be a new account.
It doesn't matter who pays the DD-if the account is in your name then is your account, not hers.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks macman
Would she be able to take up any new customer offers? I am not sure about this, because then technically this could be abused eg. In my home, my husband could sign up to sky and cancel after a year, and then I could join up to sky, and we could alternate year after. I read something about there being a clause to stop this. I know she could probably get a new contract in her name, but would she be able to sign up for it online using some of the offers around?0
