Pressure Washers

Options
I'm looking at buying a new pressure washer. The one that I'm using is one my Dad lent me which he got from Aldi last year. Whilst it's fine for washing cars, I also want to wash all the dirt of the paving stones and driveway. I have tried Dad's pressure washer for this, but it doesn't seem very powerful. It seems to take a long while and not get them very clean.

Looking around, Tesco Direct have a Karcher K2,400 & T50 which says it's good for both, but do I really need to be spending that much (£170)? Also for the purpose of washing the the paving stones and driveway (a double width concrete driveway) do I need the special cleaner you can get or will the water on its own do just as well?

Sorry for all the questions, it's just the more I look into them, the more confused I get.

    Hi

We bought a pressure washer from Aldi quite a few years ago and it was excellent.. We used it for a huge driveway and all my landscaped garden.. It died a death last year and I replaced it with a different make and a more expensive one.. It was a big mistake.. I couldn't get the patio attachment to fit it so I had to resell it on ebay...

I went into Aldi and lo and behold, they had their power washers so I bought another one.. It is just as good as the old one and much better than the expensive one my nextdoor neighbour bought.. She borrows mine when she needs it.. I read somewhere that Karcher makes the Aldi one but I don't know for sure.. I don't know what size the one we have is as it is in my husband's motorbike shed and he is away at the moment.. but it was the dearest one that they sold, which I think was still under £100...

    I hope this helps

    Cheers

We have a pressure washer that just jets the water onto the paving slabs but we borrowed a karcher one (dont know the model number0 but it was absolutely brilliant, it was yellow and round with a brush around the circle with the water coming through inside the round thing, absolutely brilliatn, our patio has never been as clean as this. Tarmac drive done also and took all the moss off.
Saw one locally for about £99 so shop around.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

I'd recommend any medium-high power Karcher, you can get a good one for about £100 with all the attachments you need if you look online and check out recent offers in stores. Plus, if anything goes wrong with it, send it back to Karcher and they'll fix or replace it.

You must get one of those round thingys for your jet washer if you want to do larger areas like driveways and patios. We have one of these and they are brilliant!! A little gentler than the direct hard spray of a jet wash but still extremely effective and quick for doing larger areas.

I used to have a Karcher but but now have a Nilfisk. The Nilfisk is much better in terms of design and ease of use. And it was a LOT cheaper than the equivalent Karcher. I bought it as a kit with the patio cleaner attachment.

I also have a nilfisk they are well made and I did my block paving with supplied path attachment it was so much easier, less dirty and it didnt harm the paving pushing sand out of the gaps. It was much more powerful than my old red devil and cleaned some mould I had on some concrete which old one and even high concentrated bleach wouldnt shift which I was quite surprised. I do car with it with a car nozzle and is less abrasive than other 2 adaptors I got with it. I got mine for £90 on ebay

I agree Nilfisk are very well made and robust. You can often pick them up under £100 with attachments. Try Screwfix as they often have them on offer. Or just use a search engine.

    Good luck
