Bidder wants me to cancel their bid

I have a dress on ebay, somebody messaged me at the start of the week to ask what the BIN price was.
I nicely said that it was an auction and staying that way.
Yesterday I get a message from the same person asking me to cancel their bid and relist if they win; apparently it's the wrong size. I check the bids - because there are two - and both are this same person. I haven't responded to them thinking maybe they'll get outbid, and also I don't know how to do what they're asking anyway. Plus I think it's poor form; if I'd done a BIN for them would they still be wanting to cancel that too?! I just got another message from them. It ends in less than two hours so they're probably panicking.
Assuming that they do win (there are three watchers, so fingers crossed they don't), should I do a mutual cancellation or send an invoice, then open an NPB if they don't go through with the transaction?
I'm pretty sure it'll be the first, but people like this irk me.

Yeah, I would open a NPB against them after the auction ends if they end up winning. Not your fault they didn't read the listing properly!
Are they quite new to ebay? I can't see why they can't retract the bid themselves.0 -
Personally I would pull the bid and block them. Didn't know how to do that, but in any case it's finished and they won.
I have worked out how to cancel it - if I do that do I get my final value fees back? It went on as a £4.99 free listing (no postage) - can I relist for free?0 -
If they agree to a mutual then you get your FVF's back.
you'll only get a free listing on free listing weekend, not as a relist.0 -

As you didn't manage to cancel their bid in time they might feel aggrieved enough to refuse a mutual, but fingers crossed they accept it and get you your fees back promptly.
It might be wise to apologise for not seeing their message in time and saying that you are sending through the mutual now so it can be cancelled as requested.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well I raised the case for cancellation and they sent me a message to say thank you, but haven't actually agreed to the cancellation!
I've nicely explained that they need to accept the cancellation, so I guess I'll have to say I'll raise to NPB if they don't agree.

If you have raised a cancellation, you cannot raise a NPB.0 -

Bum. Even though it was the bidder that asked for the cancellation? Personally I'd rather they paid for the dress and went through with the sale.

If they don't respond to the mutual it times out in your favour in 7 days anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
