wild baby rabbit

I wouldn't rate it's chances if you let it go at such a young age.
I think the rescue is the best option, or keeping it as a pet.
My lurcher rescued a baby rabbit from the cats years ago. He, 'Stewie', lived in the bathroom for about 6 weeks until he was big and strong and I then moved him out to a hutch. He died the first night outside, no idea why. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

I'm sure I read somewhere that vets would often treat little wild animals for free so may be worth seeing if the vet has any suggestions?:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Sadly, the young rabbit (named Easter by my children) didnt wake up this morning x He was put in a box, with some hay and a carrot (so he could eat in heaven) and buried in my newly done rose garden. Kids said some prayers etc.
Sad as it is, cant help feeling this is better than it going back out there and dying anyway.
My cats now have collars with BELLS on!!! Fed up of my daily "presents".
The joys of country living eh??? x
Thanks for advice, will defo remember it in future xxxxThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea0 -

Poor ickle bunny
If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Aaah that's a shame, those little bunnies are fragile wee things though I have to say I'm not terribly surprised

(oh, and might just be a good idea to go and put a big paving slab or something over the spot where you buried him, you don't want a hungry creature digging the poor thing up again, that WILL be hard to explain to the kids)

Cat bites are a big killer even if you manage to get the animal off the cat alive. Mouths (of any species) are rife with bacteria and a bite wound introduces that bacteria, or bacteria on the skin surface, into the body and the resulting infections can often be fatal. Probably for the best that the bun just went to sleep in the warmth and never woke up again - better than a slow death of septicemia out in the cold.0

Poor little thing. But you did your best, don't beat yourself up. Maybe it was never going to survive away from it's mother...at least you offered shelter and safety while you could.
This world needs more caring people like you.0 -
Also the shock would have probably affected the poor thing. Been through it myself and its so upetting x0
