Morrisons (peckham) doctoring their petrol pumps?!

I normally buy my petrol at Sainsburys - I use petrolwatcher (or whatever it's called) & it has been the cheapest seller in my area for many years. I put petrol in weekly - once. In the past few weeks I started walking 1/2 way to work so started using less £s of petrol this worked very well. However on Wednesday afternoon I had a hospital appointment & the `red light' came on & I didn't want to wait & drive to my local Sainsburys - I put £15 worth of unleaded in the care - by Saturday the `red light' was back on again: one weeks petrol gone in 2.5 days:mad:. By the amount I am spending on petrol you can clearly see I am only doing short journeys.
Avoid Morrisons - to be fair a colleague did say that it never lasted as long when she filled up there - I am gutted.:(

You sure they never put the prices up so you actually got less fuel and drove further? Just an idea0

I had always thought that store was overpriced and shabby (for foodstuffs) & now I have been robbed @ their petrol station.
It's a scandal - esp in such a poor area!:mad:0 -
We all know that short journeys are good for fuel economy.0

& takes HOURS
as I said in my original post I have been walking 1/2 way to work & back - so that's a saving some some 20 miles a week:T
I have just run a new search on Petrolprices.com & it's now saying that Sainsburys is on top again (last week they said Tesco's was cheaper) but that Morrisons is not far behind - so this would indicate that the price of petrol went UP when there was a threat of strike & queues! I guess high petrol prices is helping small shops and our fitness levels!0 -

you MIGHT get a couple of miles less if you use supermarket fuel vs bp shell etc but i think you will find your £15 worth which is only about 2.3 gal has been used driving
or are you saying morrisons water down the petrol0 -

You weren't robbed, its freedom of choice. They advertised the price and you chose to fill up there.0 -

How do you get the other 1/2 of the journey done??
As already said, £15 gets you less and less petrol as prices increase, which they've done quite a bit recently!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. You drive 2 miles and complain about poor fuel economy.
What's the date today?0 -
I think you'll find the error is yours. If you do a full tank from both morrisons and sainsburys you will get the same miles out of both...0

Well I have noticed the part that I walk is the most congested part of the route.
I think Morrisons are watering down the petrol0
