India/China funds for ISA

I am looking to use my remaining £4000 ISA allowance to invest in an Asia fund. I have seen various stuff on the Jupiter China Accumulation, and Aberdeen India/China/Asia Pacific funds.

Anyone have any tips??

There are some good SICAV and OEIC funds as well as some ITs as well. Quite a lot of them now.

Given the high risk nature of these funds, its better to pick four with differing aims/regional coverage and put £1000 in each so you dont put all your eggs in one basket.

Personally, and for 07/08, I'm considering one of the following (but only for part of my allowance)...

    Gartmore China Opportunities
    Martin Currie Asia Pacific A
    Aberdeen Asia Pacific A

However, as dunstonh points out, do check out each of the above funds' regional coverage because there are some differences in the above funds.

Whilst no guide to future performance, check out past performance at http://www.citywire.co.uk/Funds/Home.aspx to make sure the fund(s) you've chosen have performed well in their respective sector over recent years.

Thanks for the tips guys. Think I will choose 4 and put £1000 in each one. Was also looking at the Neptune Russia and Greater Russia fund.
