Thanks 4 all the help people!
Right, have ne idea what half this means, don't have a computer so doing this on my mob(Really difficult )and may get sacked if use one at wrk for anything other than diseases as wrk for NHS....so,will put last bills figures on here and see what pops back.
    Day..970kwh,182 at £26.460,788 at £17.550
    Night...321 ,first at £4.9
    Heat 1961 ,first at £5.590
I think the large 'day' this time may be due to trying a halogen heater to see if it was cheaper(and got it 4 cat as she loves them),but this I think hasn't worked.
    Thanks again

That's not an E7 tariff...It's a heatwise type tariff. That type of tariff is never worth it. Try getting the meter replaced with an E7 meter and the wiring changed so you only get 7 hours of night rate, then manage your heating differently and finally compare and switch to a better tariff.

17.55 pence day is very expensive do not use any electric heating other than the storage heating. You should get this rate for around 15 pence.
4.9 pence night is good that's about the market rate.
5.59 pence heat is reasonable but can be cheaper if only used on E7.

The total usage is 3,252kWh which is quite good.

A poor tariff...but you can't compare and switch with this tariff. All suppliers charge the same. There is no competition.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Your choice of supplier and tariff is down to you-no concern of your landlord whatsoever, since they don't pay the bill.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Some of the 'heatwise' tariff houses were wired so only storage heaters and immersion heater used cheap rate electricity.

All the other lights, appliances etc were on the day rate 24/7

The meter to be fitted is determined by the developer on a new connection/new build based on what will be operating in the property. The tarifv will usually just be the standard one since they only pay the bill for a short period of time.

If you are going E7, you will need a rewire. This will also mean cancelling the Heat only MPAN so the landlord will have to get a new one if he/she ever needs it back. This will need their permission.

You mentioned a meter change though, so was it Supertariff before? If not, someone has requested it and you may need to argue with them over the bilks they have caused if they are inappropriate to the set up you have...not the first time a landlord has caused these problems.
