Rang the abbey and straight away was credited £67 into my account. It took 5 minutes and Im very happy.
    You killed me scooter!!
  • Just a reminder the banks charge you for going overdrawn when you don't have an overdraft limit or over your overdraft. All of you who are rubbish at budgeting and getting all your fees back make me really angry. Those like me who budget so not to abuse overdraft limits will now pay the price with higher loan rates and even fees for having a current account.

Have you thought of going through your Tesco receipts for the last 5 years and asking for a refund on the mark-ups?! It's a shame the banks backed down so easily.

I understand your point but I don't agree with you. The banks have a right to charge something but not to overcharge. A lot of us have been taken over the agreed limit from time to time by just a few pence. This easily happens when a direct debit goes up unexpectedly, for example. In the case of mortgage exit fees, the banks have no excuse. Never mentioned when the loan is taken out, suddenly they increase and increase the fee.

Actually I sympathise with people like you. I know of somebody in a similar situation.
However, the law states that Banks can only apply charges that reflect the true costs they incur to process the charges. The amounts they have been charging do not reflect this, and no bank has defended their charges due to this. They, quite simply, are using it to rip customers off and make a huge profit.

It's both illegal and wrong, and customers have every right to demand their money back. It's a disgusting way to do business. I hope everybody gets their money back. The banks have been caught out, so I have absoultely no sympathy for them.
