Can't access FF?

Fir the last 2 days I have been unable to open my FF browser, as far as I know I have done nothing to the computer that should have caused this problem, any ideas how to get back to FF.

Thanks

What do you mean by FF, FireFox?

Does anything happen when you try to run it?

A couple of things you could try. You could try a system restore back to before 2 days ago.

Alternatively you could uninstall it via control panel and reinstall it.

If you've done nothing it may be worth running a virus scan and adware scan to make sure nothing nasty is on your machine
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

There was an update to version 2.0.0.2 in the past few days. Did you install that? Maybe that didn't work properly.

There are some general Firefox diagnostics here:

As I can't open FF, those options are not available to me?

    Can't remember doing an update.

If I go to my desktop, or toolbar (quickstart), no matter what I do to open FF all I get is my desk top, I cannot open FF browser.

  • There should be a safe mode option in Start - All Programs - Firefox. If not, firefox -safe-mode in Start, Run. If that works it may mean the problem is caused by a bad add on.

Or could be a corrupt profile, so try running it with a new profile. If that works, import settings from the old profile - see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager

To run a new profile do I just install FF again?
I don't want to lose bookmarks!
