Farnborough Air Show 2012 - anyone know much about the site and tickets ?

Tickets information is here http://www.farnborough.com/tickets/public-about-tickets but some things are unclear to me. I haven't been before either.

As I understand it, there is a funfair on the weekend but perhaps not before. If so, then the weekend it is.

What about Grandstand and Diamond tickets with better views for the air shows ? Isn't the view from the regular places enough ?

What about specific area access ? can people get around / into the planes anyway or is that restricted to some class of ticket ?

Just want to get the best experience possible really.

Yeah, I saw that. Weekend tickets are valid Saturday or Sunday, not specific, which is good I guess.

It is the extra package seating etc. such as the Grandstand which I would like to hear about.

Not sure as I never bothered going when I lived there.

You normally find discount codes in the Aldershot and Farnborough local papers

Grandstands give you a seat on plastic for a fee, instead of sitting on the soft grass beside the runway. We went on a chilly July in 2008 but won't be buying grandstand seating this year.

This works out the same price as buying in advance.

I know how to get a 2 tickets for £50. But trying to find it cheaper!

I went 4 years ago, never bothered with a grandstand seat. It was a good experience even without it.

I might be going this year, but I'm going to buy on the day, even though it's a bit more expensive, as I don't want to go on a rainy day! lol. It's all weather dependent for me.
