Mac Code From Sky?

Hi

Waiting on a MAC code from Sky,have been told told by one agent it takes 24 hours to generate one and another 2 weeks,anybody had any success in getting one in 24 hours?

    They are required to send it within 5 working days, you'll not get one in 24 hours. But certainly not 2 weeks-that's just retentions trying to put you off leaving.
    It's valid for 30 days, so what's the rush?
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    The quicker i can pass it on too BT Infinity the quicker I will get connected is what im thinking..........Should have mentioned im without internet as the sky router packed in...

    It will make no difference. Don't know what the wait for OR Infinity engineers is at present, but certainly not less than the 3-4 weeks for a standard OR line install. You should be able to sign up online and then pass them your MAC in a few days time.
    Why not just use another router in the meantime?-loads on eBay for a tenner or so.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Just been updated its between 24 to 72 hours to get a MAC code from Sky,heres hoping its the truth!!....

    Which is within the OFCOM guidelines as I said:

    It actually 'takes' about 1 minute to produce it, but they'll draw it out as long as possible.

    Its actually for my sister,i left Sky last month and went to O2 Works package,Sky used to be consistent but we have been having too many problems hence the switches...
