Sunglasses Shop £19 for £50 voucher but they've hiked Prices!

Options
Hi all.
I bought the £19 voucher yesterday entitling me to £50 off sunglasses at sunglasses-shop-co-uk . In the MSE it said sunglasses-shop have assured MSE they wouldn't hike the prices for the duration of the voucher which is until July.
But unless i've missed something here they have! ...as the glasses MSE quotes as reduced ie Ray-Ban 2129 shiny blacks for £45 (were £75), Oakley Five Squared Polishe Black Glasses £37(were £68) are in fact the original price on sunglasses-shop website.

So what do I do? I either pay the extra or return the voucher I guess.

Your comments would be welcome:)

    2129's are priced at £76

Not seen the advert for the voucher so not sure what the deals are but..

    2129's - £76+£19(voucher)-£50 = £45
    Oakleys - £68+£19-£50 = £37

Are the prices not after discounts etc?
  • I bought this voucher too, and was shocked when I logged on to the Sunglasses Shop today to see that the Oakley glasses I had my eye on had shot up to over £100. On the face of it this looks like very unpleasant sharp practice, no? I've emailed customer services and will let you know what they say.
  • OK - I've got an update on this after a very friendly call from customer services. What happened is this: the cheaper glasses in the range I was interested in had gone out of stock - but instead of saying "out of stock" they totally disappear off this website. So that gave the impression that the whole range had sharply increased in price.

Sunglasses Shop say they haven't increased their prices - and the £68 glasses mentioned by Martin are now back in stock.

Happy to give the thumbs up to a very prompt response clearing up the confusion. No sharp practice involved at all - my bad!

    Hi there,

We've been in touch with Sunglasses Shop about the pricing issue in the above post. We confirmed before we mentioned it in the email there would be no price rises and it it has confirmed this is still the case.

It’s said if a cheaper pair of sunglasses you like go out of stock, they willl disappear off the site, however chances are stock will be replenished again before the end date of the voucher and you'll be able to get the pair you fancy.

If you any issues regarding restocking times or alternate pairs, it’s best to get in touch directly with the Sunglasses Shop customer services team. Let us know if you have any other problems.

    Hope this helps,
    MSE Deborah

    Hi,
I'm slightly confused by the above. Basically when we bought the voucher the glasses were £38 and then they went out of stock. Now they're £68 and back in stock- how isn't that a price rise?
    Cheers,
    Richard
