had a good weekend with supper at friends and a biuffet dance on sunday but have paid for it with weight gain:(:(:(:(Dh away thia week so will try to exist on lettuce leaves(and maybe the egg from SSBbox that finally arrived:rotfl:)
going to town tomorrow but not sure why as no need to buy toiletries and want to lose weight before buying clothes
planning to PYNM as DH started a dance on the wrong foot and took the tip of my big toe nail off so ruining my "carefully?"applied smashed finish nails:(
off on a mini break in a couple of weeks and thinking about a lux ped....do I need to go with naked nails?always find it hard to get the polish next to cuticles off.
anyone watching silent witness?is it me or is that programme getting more depressing and way out??
Boo to the broken toe nail. When I visited Ma yesterday (elderly lady who has never worn makeup) she commented about my turquoise toe nails "at least no-one should tread on your toes, they can hardly miss seeing them" :rotfl:
Recorded Silent Witness, but from the clip I saw, not sure I can be bothered to watch it, I find it all a bit OTT now.
If I am "not buying" I have a nice look at all the clothes and how I can switch around what I have, new necklace, belt, scarf etc to bring it a bit more up to date and do a mental shopping list of the things I might buy when I can splurge, sister's wedding in July, need to get 5/6 pounds off before I buy anything, finding it hard thought, eat too much when I am in pain. Have a good day.:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Well I'm popping in here with a little challenge to you all! I know that many of us are bzzagents so those who are will have heard about the live below the line campaign. For those of you who have not, here goes!
Basically, the challenge is to eat for £1 per day for 5 days. Many people worldwide only have this amount each day to feed themselves. I'm going to try to do this. Spoke to DH about it last night and he said 'no way'! So I'll be on my own unless the children decide to join in with me. I will be having 5 days of really boring food by the looks of it but must do my best to ensure that I stay on budget and eat healthily.
Who else is up for the challenge? It is on Facebook and bzzagent's website. I will pop in and post my progress as and when I get the chance. The week starts on the 7th of May.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
I can't believe everyone hates Flakeaway! It's my favourite exfoliating scrub ever. I use soap/wash with a scrunchie after using it to get rid of the oily feeling.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0

I've signed up for this, as I'm also a Bzzagent though I'm not good at asking people for money for sponsorship.
It is possible for it not to be TOO boring, I think, but requires a fair bit of ingenuity - I may have a go at making my own oatcakes, soda bread, pancakes from Value flour etc....
Main meals -a stirfry of carrots, onions, cabbage with a packet of 11p noodles and soy sauce for flavour is one idea.
Just water to drink, that will be good for me anyway.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I'm thinking that my approved foods order will go a long long way towards offsetting the costs of my food here. In fact, it was payday on Friday and I was very surprised when I checked my bank account. There was little spent from it as we are so well stocked from my order which arrived at the end of March and there is loads left in our cupboards still. I bought some little tubs for the kids to take their jelly into school in. Got 10 for £1 and they fit in their new lunch boxes which don't actually fit an apple in. Silly design if you ask me! Still no UU's or any splutterers really!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

sawan82 - The Jurlique cleanser sounds nice - you'll have to let us know what you think of it. I got the face serum.
Kaz - Not sure I could manage to eat for £1 with being Coeliac, as most of the cheap foods I won't be able to eat.
Less than six weeks till our week away trying to eat healthily and cut down portion sizes in order to get into Holiday clothes, but its not going that well so far. I have loads of mini's and sachets put aside to use on Holiday so will hopefully manage loads of UU.
I have had 1 UU this morning Sanctuary Body Wash 75ml WMBA it was nice product but nothing special. Will shop in stash for something else I still have a Rituals Foaming shower gel open, but hate it, was going to use it as shaving foam for my legs as it is that consistency.0 -
2 UUs for today
Sanctuary bath float 75ml - WNB it was a gift from two xmas's ago :rotfl:really did nothing for me
Tesco Everyday Shampoo 750ml apple and aloe vera - WNBA. to be honest I have no recollection of buying this shampoo! It took ages to get rid of it and dried my hair out too much.
I'm hoping the rest of the tressemme conditioner will go tomorrow morning.
I know I would not be able to keep to £1 per day! But good luck to those that are going to do this challenge. I admire you for just trying.
Just a quick question...
I'm trying to be frugal but really want to get a good quality conditioner and shampoo for my hair. Boots have 3 for £12 at the moment I think. Should I go for that or stick with whatever I can get from the poundland?May Grocery Challenge : 64.81 so far

kaz2904 yes i'm doing it and really looking forward to it. i'm going to post lots of my current <£1 meals/days on recipe threads and my blog to help give people inspiration because it does not have to be boring at all.
I think curries are one of the easiest things to do on the cheap (if you already have spices or only consider how much spice you use in the cost of the meal). Split pea and vegetable curry with homemade chapatis is ~30p, egg(9p cheap, more for free range) fried rice(4p) with frozen peas(5p) and splash soy sauce is another very cheap meal. Baked potatoes with bean chilli(do a huge batch from dried beans and freeze portions if you can) is also cheap. Coleslaw is the cheapest less hearty food I can think of when made with carrots, cabbage, onions and a mayo-mustard dressing.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Haven't got any UUs and haven't bought anything either.
Had an exciting weekend. Me and hubby have just bought an Austin A35 van (the same one as in Wallace & Gromit). We picked it up on Saturday and it just so happened that there was a classic car show on yesterday. We weren't entering the van it was just a day out. Anyway, just as we were about to leave a man from Classic Car Weekly started asking hubby questions about the van. He then asked if he could take a picture of us by the van as he was going to do a piece that will be in this week's issue. Very excited about it all being in print so will have to make sure I find a copy of it when it comes out. Just to let everyone know you're socialising with a celebrity now :rotfl:Did owe £9,951.96
Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j
