***please read this if you received the argan oil***

    Hello lovelies.

I've had a terrible dilemma and this is the best solution that I can come up with.

I am not going to use the argan oil that I was sent. This is terribly disappointing but I am not happy to risk it. Can I suggest that you go and look at the website for the company that makes the oil and think about whether you trust them. It's partly a gut feeling but to my eyes there are lots of worrying things. For a start you cannot claim that things are 'miracle' oils that will stop your hair going grey, will reverse wrinkles etc etc (cf their article section). However, it's more than that that worries me. They are not certified by any recognised body. Take a good look at the 'certificate of authenticity'. Try to Google the lab as spelt on the 'certificate'. (Google will correct it for you & then you'll see that the lab specialises in biodiesel and fuel!) The website is littered with typos and sentences that make no sense - this is deeply unprofessional and usually a red flag to a customer. I think that the testimonial page is dubious. The company were alerted to my concerns and edited the testimonials within hours. (Also, try finding the article "in The Telegraph" about them...) I can't say any more as this is an open forum but you can PM me if it would help you.

Please do not reply on this thread with the name of the oil or the name of the beauty box. It's really important that this doesn't come up in searches. I'm very uncomfortable about posting this but I'd like you to come to your own decision about the oil before using it.

I have written to the lovely people that send the box. I trust them and like them a great deal and they are looking into it. The last thing that I want to do is start a scare or a panic. Please do not quote this message anywhere else. I feel that you ladies are good friends and that is why I wanted to let you know my thoughts (again, only my opinion). I will know a bit more on Friday. There may be no problem at all. You may be happy to use the oil. I will not use mine. For me it isn't worth the risk. I already use argan oil (from a different supplier) and it's quite useful but I found that rosehip or grapeseed is better for my skin so my argan oil isn't a HG sort of thing for me. You can put it on your hair but I had better results with Macadamia Oil (I know that this has lots of other things added to it - that is why it works better for me ). If anyone really wants to try argan oil then there are lots of reputable sellers out there. It will be a great deal cheaper than £21. (It should be around £5-6 for 50ml). I had to read up about all this sort of thing when I was first ill and had to totally change my skincare.

I hope that I've done the right thing. I feel very awkward about it. :o

Thanks for your warning Willowbee, could you let us know when you hear back from the beauty box company? I'll hold off using mine until we hear back from you and I have time to do some research myself of the company........ :o

Thank you Sawan and Dollypop and SuiDreams (via PM) **big hug**

I was so nervous about saying anything. :o

I will let you know when I've heard back from the beauty box company again (probably tomorrow). I want to give them the time to look into it properly.

Hello lovelies. Sorry for my absence. I haven't been very well.

I have a couple of UUs to announce.

Superdrug Mud Therapy Rasberry Exfoliating Mask - WIBA? - Yes, although it's a bit messy! Smells lovely though and makes my skin feel soft.:)

James Brown Scandalous Rich Moisturising Shampoo - WIBA? - This was a freebie aggggggggges ago but it smells okay and leaves my hair feeling nice. It doesn't lather up that well though so not sure if I would buy it, personally.

    Thank you EvilSquid :)

If you conclude that you think it's worrying maybe you could write a quick email to Am*rya and just say that you're concerned?

Am i the only one to give in to the TSV???? I thought I could count on some of you ladies to keep me company!

Budge up Scrappie - here I come to keep you company - ordered mine this morning - not sure I want the lipgloss thing as have had one of these in the past and it was a bit gloopy for my liking. Still great value though. Didn't do the AD either - if the next 'drop' had been a different fragrance may have been tempted but more of the same didn't really do it for me.

Thanks for the heads up - mine came today (finally) but am now a bit unsure whether to use it or not - will do some research as you suggest.

Anyone tried any of the Clarins new facial oils - may be tempted if the reports are good?

Will post my INs in a seperate post as also have some OUTs to declare but need to go and cook dinner for my DDs after a day out at the local farm.
  • One UU - pulp friction boy scrub. I'm never gonna buy S & G again!
  • UU:

NARS pro-prime eyeshadow base - sad to see this go, I really liked that it was non-oily, very easy to apply without feeling heavy. WBA.
