Thanks Enchanted, I'm glad to be back :T
OK, so, the main problem with Fabby New Job is that it's in the city centre. There are shops in the city centre. Shops with pretty things in. Hence why I've hemorrhaged cash like a money hemophiliac this past month.
BUT NO MORE!
The way I see it, there are three problems which all need to be faced separately, and head-on:
1) It's a 3 mile each-way journey to work.
*LaFolie's amazing glittery solution*: Walk to and from work whenever I'm not going to the gym after work (learned the hard way that combining those two is a baaad idea). Therefore what would have been £11 a week spent on bus fare reduces to £6.20.
2) There are shops selling pretty things of needless, but lustful, self-indulgence dangerously close to my place of work
*LaFolie's amazing glittery solution*: Keep the debit card out of my purse unless absolutely needed that day, and only a bit of my week's pocket money on me, for emergency Freddos / Flumps etc.
3) I have a moral and social obligation to 'do lunch' with friends who work in town
*LaFolie's amazing glittery solution*: Take my lunch in as normal on such days, and meet for coffee instead (there's a place that does amaaazzzing coffee for £1).
So there. As always, I know what I should be doing, and what I have to do to get myself out of debt, it's just sticking to it that's the hard part... Well, watch this space!

Thank you my lovelies
My new job essentially involves me bossing around / organising the lives of a team of nerdy men. Given Monsieur and his friends, I'm already well practised in this :T
London - that's the thing, it's easier said than done
But but BUT, I've done well on ... well ... most of the three rules today! I walked to and from work (and can TOTALLY feel it!), didn't have my debit card on me, and only spent a total of £4.18 today, which can be broken down into:
Fruit for snacks at work: £1.19 (
Aldi)
Tea fund at work: £1.25
Yoghurt and a freddo: £0.56
Milk for home: £1.18
Yes, I do have a thing about Freddos...
I'm trying to rack my brains as to what other gossip there is chez LaFolie (heck, I know that's why I read DFDs
)
Well, I quit my OU course, as was just plain BORED, and had no motivation to do anything...
And did I mention the pretty dress that's kind of got me back into CC debt?! It's soooo pretty!
Ok, enough swooning over garments, I'm off to rack up some more swagbucks, and to catch up on what's been happening in LondonGirl's life

Yay come and catch up with me!

Unless you're motivated to do these courses there's no point, you have to really want or need to do it!

Ooh, today's been a bit of a !!!!!!! Shattered after an afternoon of back-to-back meetings (apparently they were all speaking English, but I'm !!!!!!ed if any sense was made!), I met Monsieur for a drink in his brother's bar after work (I believe my exact text to Monsieur was "Need...Booze...").
Knowing me well, Monsieur allowed me to get about a third of the way through my glass of scrummy strawberry, raspberry, and cherry beer before breaking the news that he's decided to quit his job. Ok, that face is a bit of an overreaction, as I knew that this was coming, but...
Basically Monsieur's work have being screwing him around a lot recently, cutting his hours back. Today was the final straw, as he was told that all of his shifts would now be 7pm - 10pm. Hardly worth the bus fare into town! Monsieur was going to quit in August anyway, so this has just hastened the decision.
All this means that there is even smaller a margin for error (or should I say, margin for pretty things?), but we shall prevail!
Before his current job, Monsieur was self-employed, so hopefully he'll be able to get some jobs and money that way, and he knows enough people to talk his way into something...
Anyway, here's the financial nitty-gritty for today:
Bottle of Lukozade and a Fudge: £1.45
Everything else Monsieur paid for
Tomorrow won't be a no spend day, as I need to do some Boring Shopping (what I shall now call grocery shopping) - currently running disgustingly low on kitchen roll, cling film, and foil.
Also need to do some Pretty Shopping (yes, it is a need!) - need to get some facial soap from a certain shop you can smell 10 streets away. But that is IT, apart from bus fare to the gym. NO FREDDOS, FUDGES, CHOMPS, or FLUMPS! (or else I'll turn into a flump myself!)
Ok, final push for Swagbucks this evening, and then sleeeeeeep

Another challenge for you!!! Good luck to Monsieur on sorting out work, 3 hours needing a bus journey does not sound worth it at all!
