Can I ask which OU course it was? I was doing French with the OU two years ago, but sadly life had other plans and I had to drop it half way through. I'm v keen to start again in October, though.

I don't know why Freddos, Fudges and Chomps aren't more popular - they're the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up size!

A bit more damage was done at lunch time than expected: £3 on toiletries, £5 on make up (3 x face powders, so bargain!), and £5 on a sunglasses case. I had to go and get my prescription sunnies re-fitted (so they don't fall off my face) and the bending they did to the arms meant that they no longer fit in the original case, but hey ho!

Will write myself a shopping list this afternoon when my brain inevitably starts to melt again, so that I don't go wild in Aldi (can one truly go wild in Aldi? philosophical question!)

    Update tonight my lovelies !

Once again I'm shattered at 10pm - rock on!

Bus to the gym cost me twice as much as usual, as the first bus I got on was smashed into by a truck  and the replacement would have taken ages to get to the scene. Other than that, a tenner spent on Boring Shopping in A1di.

Kind of saved £7.60 today, too - I asked Monsieur to pick up my prescription slip from the doctors for me (he's in all day, I'm at work all day), and bless him, he picked up the slip and got the meds for me :) what a good Monsieur I have.

I've decided to put my old uni textbooks onto fleabay next time I get an email notifying me of zero insertion fees - better money in my purse and space on my bookshelves!

    Weekend update time!

I haven't fallen off the MSE wagon, just off the 'remembering to update this DFD' wagon :p. Yesterday I spent £25 in A1di, which should see us through 'til payday.

Had a fab frugal evening last night at a friend's housewarming - two bottles of 99p cider pour moi, and a £2.99 bottle of wine for my friend, plus the £2.10 bus fare home, and a fantastic night was had by all. Just goes to show that you don't need to spend tonnes to have a great time!

However I do now have a major case of flat envy, she has an amazing view, and such a swanky pad, for £35 more per month than my flat. However, I keep telling myself that my flat is bigger (2 beds, separate kitchen / diner) and in a less-likely-to-get-stabbed neighbourhood...

Today will be a NSD if it kills me. There is absolutely nothing I can think of that I would need to buy, and I will make sure tomorrow is, too.

One thing I noticed last week is that my lucozade / red bull purchases are mounting up with the number of meetings I'm having to stay awake through, so I bought a 6 pack of A1di brand red bull for £1.59 yesterday. Considering B00ts sell red bull for £1.45, I say that's a good investment!

Today is going to be a rubber glove day - the flat is in major need of a clean / tidy, and it'll keep me out of financial trouble.

I'm also redoubling my efforts on earning more online through survey sites / swagbucks, making sure I'm checking all 3 sites I use for new surveys every day. Every 5p rejection payment helps ;)

    Right, to coffee and beyond!

Ooh, so sorry Misty, I only just spied your post!

The courses were intermediate French and beginners German. I just found them so very very dull and un-engaging, and the online tutorial systems were just hilariously awkward.

Plus, my evenings are for wine, Minecraft, and browsing MSE, not for dull dull verb conjugation :p

Nice to see you 'round! x

Thanks doll, but *cough* today's NSD was an epic fail - came out of this afternoons' meetings with a headache that only a good Shiraz could cure :p

    Ok folks, update time!

As hinted upon in my above post, Monday's NSD didn't work out (oops), as I spent £5.49 on a very nice, very necessary bottle of wine.

Yesterday went better - lunchtime spends of carmex (I have hideously chapped lips atm, blaming the weather for confusing them into thinking it's winter) and lucozade were made using boots points, so no money traded hands, and then it was just the bus fare home.

I was going to go the gym after work (hence the bus), but whilst I was waiting for said transport, Monsieur rocked up, and I decided that I'd rather spend time with my lovely boy :)

Ooh, and I also bought some milk. I'm being strict with myself in this respect and only allowing myself to buy milk from A1di or Ic3land, where it's £1 for 4 pints, as opposed to the £1.20 in supermarkets, or £1.50 some places
Today is going to be a nightmare day work wise, but will be a good day spend wise: lots of meetings = no time to spend money, and I've rocked up a hideous number of extra hours this past week, so will hopefully be leaving early, heading to the gym, and then suitably pyjama'd at a reasonable time.

So, total anticipated spends for the day - £1.60. LET'S DO THIS!

Hokay, time to dust this old thing off!

Things were plodding along ok in the world of moi until a couple of weeks ago: new job in the pipeline, and whilst not significantly reducing my debts, I haven't been adding to them, either.

Then my laptop broke. Call me a self-entitled-so-and-so, but I can't live without a laptop: too many of my friends live in other countries, plus I have a diploma to do that requires t'internet. So that was £300 on the credit card. Yay!!......

Then I got an email notifying me that the electric dd is going up by fifty bleeding quid a month. URGH. Do not need!

So, time to start holding myself accountable again, to do a reccy of where things stand, and to make some lovely goals to aim for!
