Although some CCJ's are granted as all other avenues of resolution have been exhausted for the collection of a debt, other CCJs may order settlement of an account although the dispute centres on a totally different matter.

Yes there are sharks. Although you will not put your toe in the water for fear of sharks, you are feeding them elsewhere in the economy.

That's why there's risk assessment. Always another customer.

Sounds rather harsh to me. The court is a place where all manner of disputes are settled, not just "won't pay" debt.

So if someone disputes whether a bill is due, perhaps because they feel that the quality of supply was unacceptable, they should in the final instance let the matter go to court. If they lose and pay up, you are penalising them for exercising a legal right. Unwittingly, you are intimidating businesses into giving in to the threat of court proceedings without having their day in court. Ultimately, this leads to rogue businesses having a business model which includes getting away with outrageous claims because no one will risk their credit to stand up to them.
That shouldn't be a worry, as if they lose & pay up within 28 days the CCJ is never registered, it never happened as far the CRAs know..
