Trying to Unlock Phone - Orange offer to "Temporarily Disconnect"...
Hi all,
My girlfriend is now living in Ireland and wants to unlock her Orange phone so she can pick up a SIM only deal in Ireland. She phoned Orange to arrange this. After a long wait they have finally sent a letter saying:
"Thank you for your request to temporarily disconnect your Orange phone..."
Is that the same as unlock or are they doing something completely different to the phone?
Cheers

Sounds like she spoke to a moron who mashed the keyboard with his/her podgy hands and fired off all sorts of random orders which will probably result in your account getting mucked up.
I'd phone them up and speak to somebody else to get it sorted.0 -
Thanks. I'll get her to give them another call.0

HI, Orange charge £20 to do this, have you by any chance come across a cheaper way?0

Hmmm. We have a different problem now. The phone (Sony Ericsson Xperia X10) was replaced last year under warranty when it developed a fault. Having phoned Orange again it turns out their records do not have the correct IMEI code for the phone and they will not be able to unlock it. Has anyone experienced this before? Some bod from Orange is trying to sort the problem but I don't have much faith in him.0

I bought a code (HTC) on ebay for £4.40. I believe the seller was unlockfusion.
It was very simple and took less than 10 minutes from purchase to unlocking.
Saved a lot of faffing around.
PS: Blimey, I just checked for an Xperia X10 and the going rate seems to be £25!0 -
I bought a HTC Mozart code from unlockfusion the other day for £1.750
