it appears that they are deducting the carers allowance from your benefit, even though they arent actually paying it!

theyre totally different departments so its quite conceivable that this is the case.

when my kids were young, child benefit was deducted from income support payments. so when my son left school. they obviously stopped paying income support for him ... but they continued to deduct his child benefit from my income support. it was easily sorted out .... but it took me about 3 months to realise what had happened!

The 58.45 will be the uprated amount of Carers Allowance (from this April) if you are getting paid Carers Allowance for looking after your husband he will not get the Severe Disability Premium.

i was going by your figures.. i thought carers was £55 a week, but you said the deduction for it was you also didnt mention that they were actually paying you the carers allowance seperately. in that case youre getting the right amountjust in a roundabout way

the carers allowance shouldnt be deducted, as you should get the premium instead of the carers allowance.

This is not always the case, they deduct my carers allowance and show that deduction in the workings. They also deduct my child benefit as both are classed as income.
How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.

its all clear now. the OP neglected to mention that she was receiving carers allowance.
the OP made it seem like they were being paid only the carers premium and yet still having the carers allowance deducted from their benefit.
