can anyone explain this to me thanx

hi wondered if anyone can help
been reading on incapticy etc so wondered if income is right.
husband is on high rate mobility and middle rate care.
where is the sickness benifit.
its so hard to work out.
he was on sickness benifit before he went on to mobility.
so i take it the 41.10 below is that.
so is he getting a disablity premium?
after reading here last week i phoned the social and she said yes he is its 41.10.
so i said where is his sickness benifit then she said its in there somewhere? he has been ill for years and finally went on disability about 5 years ago.

how much the law says you need to live on.

for you and partner 105.94.
because your partner is sick 41.10
or is being cared for 31.00.
total amount 178.05

now deducted
careres allownace 58.45
so left with 119.60 per week

husband is on high rate mobility and middle rate care.
where is sickness benifit.
thanx hope this post makes sense.

just looked again and something isnt right with the way youve added it up.

you would get the couples rate plus the disability premium plus thr carers premium.
the carers allowance shouldnt be deducted, as you should get the premium instead of the carers allowance.

if you are claiming for him, then he isnt on sickness benefit ... he is on whatever benefit you claim ( i assume its income support)
if he made a claim for income based ESA for both of you, the figures would come out the same.

so it's the same amount, just a different way of claiming it.

    you should be getting ...
couples rate minus the carers allowance
    plus disability premium
    plus carers premium

also you should check that hes getting the right disabilty premiums. as hes on middle rate care ( and im assuming you claim income support) he should be receiving 2 disabilty ptrmiums

check on entitledto to see what you should be getting

we get 105.95 per week as we are paying back a social loan at £17 per week.
so it would be 119 per week income surport
plus the carers allowance £55 per week
i have it the letter from jobcentre i am using there notes.

i just checked ang you should be getting 178 05 but with no deductions for carers allowance as you only have an underlying entitlement that gives you the carers premium instead
so minus the £17 deduction you should be getting 161 05 per week plus his DLA

carers allowance is a taxable benefit. because you are on means tested benefit, they will deduct the carers allowance from your benefit which would lead you to be no better off. but because you have an entitlement to it, they pay you the carers premium.
so you should get exactly the same as any other couple ... but in addition you get the disabilty premium plus the carers premium.##hoe that makes sense
