    Ask the police if you are allowed to file a report about the incident even though the girl doesn't want to make a complaint. It looks great for them if there is not a record of such an incident on their 'patch'.

That was what we wanted to happen, we wanted there to be a report of it, incase it happens again and the police turn round and ask why we didn't report it! thanks for all your suggestions, and i am with you Karrie, i would be like a bull in a china shop if it was my child. Thanks again, at least we know we did the right thing.

    I'm mindful here that the parent here has decided not to press charges. That is his right whether we like it or not.

    Be careful you don't antagonise the situation further as you will end up taking the blame rather than the father or child or even the bullies. Sometimes things may get worse before they get better.

    That said, its a difficult one. I don't envy your situation.
