Low Storage on HTC Wildfire S phone - nightmare!
I've had this problem before, but not so severe and after a call to Orange decided that if I regularly cleared the cache it wouldn't be a problem. Anyway, I have really low internal storage on my phone now, so low that I sometimes can't send texts, or use the internet, or view photos in the gallery, etc, etc. At the momentI have only 1.8mb or internal storage space on it. There is not even anything I can move on to the SD card, I literally have no apps downloaded by me now. There is only what came on the phone in the first place. I deleted Angry Birds and now have no Hotmail on there - always cleared the cache after having ininstalling anything. It's a bit maddening really, I can't view emails or look at my photos!!!!! I would be grateful if anyone can help before I phone Orange again, or throw my phone in the bin!!!! Really the phone is not fit for purpose, nothing that it's meant for and the reason why I bought it can be used properly! I would really like to change it for another model, do you think this would be possible? I am on a 2 year contract that I started last August
Thanks for reading
Just found this after dohting a search (I'm on orange though!)

Also I'm not after telling orange they mis sold me the phone - I made my own decision, but feel angry that it just doesn't work!!! I'm really not happy with it now.

Before going into something complex like the link suggests, simply
Menu- Settings-Applications-running services-
this shows a list of the apps running , stop as many of them as you can and the handset will get back to the usual 'speed'.0 -
Thanks, I will try that now

The Wildfire S only has 183MB on which to store all your apps and data, this is not a lot at all.
This isn't Orange's fault, and calling them isn't going to help. It's a budget phone, so HTC scrimped on space, all you can do is go though each app in the list and see how much space it and it's data is using. The browser can store a heck of a lot of info, so check that one first.0 -
I just don't understand how, when I've wiped everything I can off, it's even worse?
If I'd have known about how crap the storage was before I would have gone for a different phone...........0 -

I have the wildfire (prior to the wildfire S) If you have stopped most of the running applications (you cannot stop them all) then the handset should return to normal speed, my bro has the S and not had the symptoms you describe, the internal memory should not hold you back as many of the popular handsets only have a small amount of memory , after you stopped all the services did the available meory increase? Also switch the handset off and then back on and see if it improves, only other thing I can think of right now is that the bloatware loaded by Orange is what is hampering the handset functionality, from what I have seen of the handset , it is a great device.0 -

Have you set the camera to save to the memory card rather than the internal memory?
I cannot even view my gallery pics so cannot delete any! I don't have hundreds at all though - maybe 40-50 at a guess? I have no picture texts and am always deleting texts so don't have many at all. I will try and do the camera setting but don't I need to go to the gallery first, where I have all my pictures to do that? (sorry I'm not very good still with the settings!) thanks.0 -

Gallery pictures are only ever stored on the SD card, so that's not a worry for you.
Orange's bloat is stored on /system, not /data so that isn't an issue for space either. Could be for speed though, if a lot of their crap autostarts.0 -
Going into 'running applications' I have 130mb used and 269mb free? (RAM)
Grrrrrrr!!!! (frustrated lol!!!)0
