McAfee - where to buy
Comments

Renewing it direct is always the most expensive method. That applies to just about every AV program, not just McCrappy. The cheapest method is to buy the annual new version online via Amazon.
How do you know that your PC has been 'fine' with McCrappy? If it's missing things (and it will be), then your system may be crawling with spyware and you'd be none the wiser.
If you doubt me, then do a standalone scan with Malwarebytes and I'll eat my virtual hat if it doesn't find at least a dozen infections. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Take your pick. Far cheaper than McAfee site.

Cheers for those that answered the original question.
Update for all you McAfeee lovers on here. The link from the pop up was charging £39-99 for a 1 year McAfee Anti Virus Plus. Buying through eBay I picked it up for £12.
Hope this is a help for someone out there0 -
I'm afraid that you haven't quite grasped the idea of a public forum. The answers you get may not always be the ones you'd hoped for.
Why pay even £12 pa for something that is less effective than the many free AV programs out there?
As for McAfee lovers...I suspect that you'll struggle to find many on here.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Doh!Am afraid I'm only armed with half a story but here goes. Please no posts along the lines of McAfee is rubbish, get this or that. We're happy that our PC has been fine for the past 12 months so we're happy to extend.
As you say Pffft

Why would you pay £12, when my link showed only £8.09 for 3 users and another poster linked to £6.99 for one user??
Though, perhaps you should take note of what the other posters are telling to you.0 -
OP, I am not a techie, this is just my experience...
I had MacAfee full security suite free with my BB provider for years with no trouble. Then a few weeks ago I got a virus despite running MacAfee consistently. It completely trashed my laptop and I had to do a full re-install back to factory settings. Fortunately I had all important photos, documents etc backed up, although I did lose some of my music which was frustrating.
I've since uninstalled MacAfee and gone to Avast free, and straight away my laptop is running much faster, and I no longer have the annoying 'not responding' message.
So do keep an eye on things and if your system starts running slowly or hanging and not responding, be aware that it could be MacAfeeI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Since McAfee subscription has almost run out why not try out one of the free alternatives for a few days before re-installing your new McAfee.
At least that way you could see for yourself if there's any difference.
See if the freebies pick up anything that McAfee misses or vice versa.
You'll then be armed with more than half a story. The only drawback I can see is that you may then agree that McAfee is crap and you've just wasted £120 -
