Unplugged ofcourse
First thing I checked.:)Well I must say that the response they have already given you seems to indicate that they have avoided the points you raised.
Did you actually state that the Sale of Goods Act requires the seller to resolve issues following a sale?
Did you point out that you believed that the product has an inherent fault and as such you expect a remedy from them?
Make it clear to them that you are prepared to get the necessary proof that the thing does have an inherent fault, and ask them what form of proof they require.
Probably best to leave the LBA for while, until they have really answered those points.
At the moment you have no proof that the fault is inherent, so you case is still slightly weak.
As a slight aside, I notice in that link in my earlier post now directs complaints to Citizens Advice, no longer Consumer Direct. Never mind, the link is still good.
I spoke to them on the phone last night, made my case, the girl said she was passing the case onto the resolutions department to look at. I received an email 5 minutes later basically saying the same stuff and glossing over the facts.
I have again emailed now, highlighting my points and asking for a UK address for an LBA to be sent.
I am angry now!!!:mad::p0 -

do that and everyone would wash their hands of it
Im following this thread with real interest, as i too think its disgraceful that its irreparable and you have been offered a miserly amount off a new model.
Its certainly decided me about steering away from the brand.
Im not a watchdog type of person but it might be worth a shot contacting the show in case theres hundereds of these breaking down and im sure they would like to give amazons halo a kick too.
Please do keep us informed.0 -
Just thought I would update the thread....
Pure have been in touch and offered me a repair "within warranty".
As I repair was all I was looking for to start ayway (even if I had to pay) I am happy with that outcome.
Not so happy with Amazon's handling of this however.0 -
Further update....I received the radio back last week and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a brand new set.
Fair play to Pure for that and I good result for me although I would have still been happy getting a chargable repair!0
