Have you noticed any difference getting petrol/diesel locally?

Just wondering how the whole fuel debacle is affecting our forecourts??
Knowing my local station they will have plenty and will treble the price :rotfl:
But seriously it will obviously affect us if the strike goes ahead and perhaps even now....I for one couldn't afford the latest stupid advice-keep your tank 3/4 full :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: as if!!!!

The strike should have little effect, other than price hikes, on N.I. As far as I'm aware only one of the company's drivers here have voted to join the strike.0

If you can't afford to fill your tank how on earth do you afford to buy, insure and tax a car?! Doing small fill ups is less efficient in my book too, but anyway, this article agrees with NAR above saying that very few of the drivers here would be striking, BUT does our fuel not come through GB, and therefore WILL be affected?

Our fuel doesn't come through GB by road though. ;-)0

By being very careful with money almillar that's how! I have a weekly budget like most people and my petrol is £30 of that, that gets the kids back and forth to school,a trip to shopping centre, and a Saturday out to newtownards with the kids! If the petrols run out before the Saturday,we don't go!
did they not block the ports with the last protest? i myself noticed tescos in Bangor had quite a few pumps off on Saturday, but perhaps they where just busy!!
I hope it settles down anyway,it must be awful for the forecourt owners who still have to buy fresh milk and sandwiches ect but have no on buying them!it takes more energy

I always thought the opposite, that filling the tank to the neck was less efficient cause of all the extra weight the car was carrying?0 -

Because they always tell us not to carry all sorts of rubbish around in the car, 'cos of the extra weight. I thought the same as you Piglet, but then i read that petrol evaporates and when the tank is full it doesn't evaporate as quickly. So it's more efficient to keep a full tank.
So i'm all confused now, and i've got less than a quarter in my tank.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Yep got a fill of unleaded in Mr T's Stroke City this morning, I have to say it was quite busy indeed at 8:05 but mainly due to other local stations (what's left of them) being 8p/l dearer
Being next to the border, diesel sales still go up North to go down Southit still works out cheaper for fuel but the unleaded difference is not worth the travel IMHO.
Hope the price goes down soon, Derry summer riots wouldn't be the same without the petrol bombsI am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
happymummy - good budgeting - I do mine monthly, but I still maintain that filling the car, if you can manage it, IS more efficient.
When full, you're carrying around, dependent on the car, pretty much the equivalent of 1 passenger. Of course, carrying that weight takes some extra fuel.
Offset this against the time and fuel you will spend going to the petrol station and filling up, vs putting £30 for example at a time. Add the risk of having to join a queue when everyone decides they want fuel at the same time. I'd rather fill up with £60 once than £30 twice.0
