    Hi Dojoman,

    Went BR December 2011 and immediately the sense of relief was almost overwhelming. A few downs since then:

    • When I had to hand back the car (on HP) - They'd refused a perfectly reasonable offer from a 3rd party to buy it (admitedly for less than the settlement figure) and then heard that they ended up another £2k down (at least) after it went through auction;
    • In the process of the house being repossessed - they already know that I had no choice but wouldn't accept a no liability (to me) voluntary repossession. So now instead of almost certainly clearing the outstanding mortgage, they're likely to face a shortfall with the extra costs.
    It certainly makes me realise that these high paid bankers and financiers really do not live even close to this world!

    The Negatives:
    • Credit file is now in tatters (but as I don't intend borrowing again that's fine by me);
    The positives:
    • No more calls from creditors who think they can bully you into accepting their payment terms;
    • Not being afraid to answer phone, door or open mail any more;
    • Still got mobile phone on contract;
    • Still got broadband on contract;
    • No IPO;
    • I can now afford life's little luxuries like food and sleep!
    • Back onto normal tax code this month so no more payments to Moon Beever!
    • I've got a terrific boss who is really understanding of the BR!
    BTW thanks to all the posters on MSE, the amount of info on here has been a great help.

    :beer:
    Can completely understand this such as not worrying opening post ect even though still early days for us and looking forward to being able to go to supermarket without going into a cold sweat worrying if we can afford enough food for the week

    Hi everyone, welcome to the April 2012
    Bankruptcy Club.

    This club is for everyone who has gone or going through the process of Bankruptcy during April 2012. So please feel free to join and post.

    Pop your name on here, the date that you went Bankrupt and the stage that you are at now in your Bankruptcy. And then just keep everyone in the club updated throughout the next year about your journey through Bankruptcy. That way we can all stick together and compare notes and we will be there to support each other throughout the different stages in our Bankruptcy.

    Remember this is your board so keep posting.

    Obviously anyone can come on here and post anything that will help us all and you are all welcome. Any important questions that do need answering are maybe still better posted on the main board but if you do put it on here, then maybe we can help each other.

    Hopefully it will be an extra place for friendship and support as we compare notes and discuss what is happening with our Bankruptcies.

    Please leave a post when you have been declared BR, and I will update the list.

    *PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE TOO MUCH INFO, THE IS ARE KNOWN TO FREQUENT THIS SITE AND TOO MUCH INFO MAY MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO IDENTIFY INDIVIDUAL CASES, SO KEEP INFO TO A MINIMUM, ie USERNAME AND DATE ONLY*
