Thursday 29th March - What Small DFW Things Will You Do Today??!!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Morning all!

Need to get to work early today so figured I'd start us off!

Today I will:
Check banks
Check CCs - see if payments cleared!
Check TCB
2lts water
Update MS Money
Buy birthday present for friend - DVDs from Amazon, through Nectar and with NUS discount, every penny helps!
Breakfast/lunch from stores
Drive economically
Fill up with petrol
Out tonight to charity fun event, will take £20 (entry and dinner is £12, so £8 for drinks should be more than ample!) - other than that, NSD.
Log calories using free tracker
Update work facebook
Spend some time trying to get new office organised!

Think that's my lot, have a great one everyone!

OK, this is me for today:

    - Bring in own lunch (have it with me!)
    [STRIKE]
    - Put bins out for collection
    [/STRIKE]
    - OH is continuing with cleaning/wiping the old laptop for me today! :D
    - Prepare lunch for tomorrow (veg soup)
    - Have a nice home made meal for dinner (from stores) - I'm thinking baked potato with half a corn on the cob (cos we have one left that needs to be eaten), and half a chicken breast each
    - Do some dish washing
    - Put clean clothes away
    - Hoover the rugs in living room and in kitchen
    - Sweep floors
    - Dig out the hayfever tablets - must remember this!
    - LSD! (I only need to get some apples and bananas on way home from work)
    - Drink lots of water again (instead of nasty, evil diet coke)
    - Tidy the coins around the apt into the change jar

OK, I think that's it. I'll probably remember something later though! lol

    Hope you're all well!

Oh, and it's a good job the work fridge is being cleaned tomorrow. It smells like *ss!

    Eighth Anniversary Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning all!

bt1 I get a student discount with Amazon too! I registered my NUS card and it automatically deducts from valid items. Pretty great :T

    + Check banking
+ Try to figure out how to cover the insurance excess and still hit my 1vs100 deadline. My husband has agreed to pay half out of his spending money as it's his fault we lost it!
+ See how much money is in the gas envelope, as a reading was taken yesterday so I expect a bill.
+ The mega mince recipe came out great! I wouldn't say 40 portions but there is a lot. I must finish potting it up to freeze now my husband has added the spices he likes to the chilli part.
+ NSD! I did manage one yesterday too, and resisted cinema snacks. Hooray!
+ Listen to Dave Ramsey while I do some housework later.

Have a lovely day everyone :)

Hello everyone! I'm mostly excited for my paycheque to come tomorrow so I can make my first major debt payment!

    Today I am:

    - Sorting out PayPal transfer issues so I can pay off my US$ debt and get American Express airline points for it
    - [STRIKE]Having half a Covent Garden soup for lunch rather than takeout[/STRIKE] - the soup had gone off, so I went to Tesco for an apple and some cheese - cost 98p total, not bad!
    - Booking budget hotels and B&Bs, rather than pricey hotels, for upcoming holidays (planned before Debt Free aims were made, and one for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday!): £50/night for two in Hawaii for three nights during the high season, and £60/night for two in Paris for one night.
    - Working on a book to try out selling on Kindle, just to see whether I can make a bit of passive income that way
    Since March 2012:
    Paid off: $3,985.80
    Owe: $16,230.44

I attempt to clear all my debts by my 30th birthday at frugalcitygirl.com!
