Poor "advice".
You do have to declare all claims to all insurers.
And at least one well known company won't give you any NCD for the year if you have a glass replacement claim!
I am afraid you are wrong...I had a large deep chip on my car wind screen 3 years ago and autoglass advised to replace the whole screen..I did it on the insurance...changed insurer twice since then and both insureres did not want to know about the windscreen claim as they said will not affect the premium and i did not lose any NCD ..and thats for a replacement not repair0 -
yeah same here i had my windscreen completley replaced under Kwit fit insurance
and when i changed to Aviva it didnt affect my 4 years no claims at all.credit card bill. £0.00
overdraft £0.00
Help from the state £0.000 -

I am not "wrong" at all!
Just your experiences with your insurers have been different.
eg Swiftcover say this re windscreen replacement claims and NCDIf your windscreen needs to be replaced, your No Claims Discount will stay the same at your next renewal, providing you don't make any more claims that policy
year.
And it is a fact that all claims must be disclosed, whether or not an insurer tells you otherwise.0 -

If you read my reply correctly then you would have seen that I said it as a generalisation. Then you mentioned Swift Cover who are at the nasty end of the Insurance market just like Admiral Group. The man without a signature.0 -

Would you also put More Th>n at the same nasty end???
If so, perhaps you could name say 3 insurers at the opposite end.
(Though I agree windscreen claims do not usually affect NCD, which is totally different from not having to advise of such claims)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

surely in the terms and conditions it would clearly state what you are contemplating is fraud after the event
do you like porridge and hand soap
anyway dont park outside the chip shop and your problems will be over0 -

Not affecting your no claims does not mean your insurance will not go up.
Say you have protected NCD at 60% and you have a shunt. Without any NCD the policy was £1000 so you pay £400.
Come renewal time you declare that shunt. You've still got the NCD but your insurance will go up. Why? Because without any NCD the insurance would now be for example £1500. You'll still get NCD applied so you'd pay £600.0 -

More are now not affecting existing ncb, but will not add to the bonus for the year you make the claim in.
Ok if you have 5 years+, but not good if you're trying to build it up.0
