by cover I mean will they be willing to pay for repairs from autoglass.0

Probably if you only noticed that it was chipped after you took out the insurance0

if they don't I'll just have to keep driving and then hope for another fresh minor chip and then I can get a new windscreen. The problem is the old chips may be beyond repair.
They could be like a year+ old so they will have too much dirt on them already for the resin to stick.0 -
HAving windscreen chip repairs done still count as claims (which you will have to declare to any new insurers you approach for quotes), and your premium may be loaded at renewal.
It may be cheaper to pay to get these fixed by a local indepedent windscreen company than fall for autoglass's misleading ads!0 -
Declare that for upto 5 years. It might not put your premium up but there again it may cost more over 5 years than a new screen costs.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

You can't insure against something that is a certainty.
You should be able to claim off insurance held (if any) at the time the event took place.
Don't forget to inform your new insurer of such a claim"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

Pay £30 -40 to an independant and they will repair your chip.
Pay a lot more to Autoglass and as well as repairing the chip they will guarantee it not to crack.Light blue touchpaper and stand well back !0 -

Not necessarily true. Most glass claims don't affect your No Claims and more often than not you don't have to declare it. Of course there will be exceptions to the rule and these will often be the skankiest cheapo Insurers. The man without a signature.0 -

Poor "advice".
You do have to declare all claims to all insurers.
And at least one well known company won't give you any NCD for the year if you have a glass replacement claim!0
