Web Hosting

Can anyone recommend reasonable wen hosts for a business site?

  • I do web hosting for my design clients. I charge a lot (£100 pa) but you get a lot of hand holding for that. If you're resonably confident and competent you should look at GoDaddy or 1and1 (sorry, can't post links!)

Be aware that many "hosting" companies are actually just reselling products and re-badging it. If you go with a small hosting company, try and establish if they are running their own server, or just have space on a giant server farm. Also, try and find out how many sites will be hosted on their(your) server. I limit a server to 200 sites but it's not unusual to see 1500+ - any one of which could affect your site.

    Good luck - Bob

I've had a couple of sites with http://www.compila.com for a few years now. They seem to offer about the best prices around and support has been responsive on the couple of occasions that I've needed it.

I hope you are not referring to me by "Spam reported"

If you are, how dare you, I have made over 3600 posts over a number of years, all of which I hope were helpful or at least of some interest

If you were not referring to me, ignore the above

Definitely not. Give me a bit of credit. :)
Yesterday there was a spammer here and also on the techie forum, spamming about their hosting company.
